The other fingers are loosly wrapped around the grip at the second knuckle, which is perfect. Not many people realize that if you grip a sword (especially something like a sabre) with a clenched fist you can't move it fast enough to do proper bladework. With the thumb up toward the bell guard and the fingers loosly around the grip, you can pull you fingers back and push your thumb foreward to snap the blade out for a direct attack, or you can snap it around for somthing like a feint attack, parry/reposte, or pris de fer. Brendan by toning down the background some of the detail seems to be lost on the figure. Beside I kind of like it as is. I was thinking of doing one where she is casting a spell with the outstretched hand. Any feedback on that would be welcome.
