This is my second attempt at creating a portrait with PhotoShop. The armor needs serious help. Five photos went into the making of this portrait. Constructive criticism and advice welcome. (Base photo here: http://website.lineone.net/~donnasmith/photographs/cbphoto104.jpg) Files updated 7-27 to fix display problem.

Love the pic (btw Claudia Black does rock!) the shield might look a little bit better if it was lower a tad, it looks like a small/Large shield but only a tower shield would be that high up.
~Just my 2 cents

Pharae--thanks for the tips. I admire your work and appreciate you taking the time to give me some pointers.
Jammy--thank you for the compliment. Making portraits is a lot of fun by itself, but it is really nice to know that others enjoy the results.

...Our hearts bleed for you, anonymous, for your terrible prediciment... *rolls eyes*
This portrait is good and an improvement on your last. I especially love the kinda suspicious look in her eyes, which gives the portrait character, and the background, which is beautiful without detracting attention away from the woman. I look forward to seeing more of your work... :D- I tried to change, but I changed my mind -

Another good portrait that i won't use because of facial art.
I usually darken armour pieces because otherwise the colours will be to bright when dodged or burned. That helps for me.
I think the shield is perhaps a little too small, and her face and body is perhaps too blurry in comparison to the very sharp armour.
But all in all a very nice picture.

This one's great. I like her armor and shield. I like the tats on her neck too. Cool.

I did! Trying to get it smooth without losing the pattern is absolute murder. Any suggestions on intensity or brush or anything like that?
