The first thing most people see when they look at Jadan is a strong fighter cleric. Those who look deeper see a great sadness. At one time Jadan served Torm as a priest, with unparalleled devotion. A jealous superior accused him of crimes he did not commit, crimes so heinous that Jadan will not speak of them. The charges were such that Jadan was unable to defend his innocence and was cast from the church. Today he serves Torm in his own way, always looking for a way to prove his innocence and be reinstated in the church. Composite of seven photographs, painted and manipulated. The model is the same as Arkyn_TemRasul's Mage Apprentice and Shorrax. I thank him for sharing the image.
@ DarkAnya: Thank you for the lovely compliments! The mouth belongs to the model. He does have a nice one. :)
I think you've finally pinpointed what I love about this face. He looks like a real person that you could tease and joke with. As much as I love many of the other portraits on the Vault, they often look perfect and tease-proof.
I like it because it's hard for me to show imperfect people in my portraits (always trying to beautify them and airbrush them). So it's nice to see the portrait of an adventurer I'd probably tease if I ever met :P
So that's why I like him.
The mouth is Michael Vartan from Alias, right? It looks a lot like his mouth and he's very sexy so I stared at it :P
Aaaah! Yes, I see what you mean. He does look rather like one who grows into his hero role.

No, I meant someone who isn't the obvious hero, but someone who first isn't all that lucky with his life but than begins to go for the better and finally becomes the hero...
I REALLY hope you don't mean antihero, as that generally implies a weak or evil character. :O
I'm glad you like his face though. I chose him because he doesn't look like a fighter. All the more surprise for the poor fool who attacks him. Most of the best fighters I have known do not look like much until you see them in action.

Hm, don't think the armour is very asymmetrical... and the face is special, but good in its way - some kind of anti hero.
Thanks for the comments, Phaere and Selvan. I wonder whether the "fragile look" is due to the watercolor filter I used? The original armor looked strong enough.
As to its asymmetrical appearance, that's an illusion. The matching pieces are covered by the cloak. Wishing I'd noticed that before.
I like this Jadan's face. Much more interesting than the usual male model face. Perhaps a Jadan II is in order?

hmmm, well, a jester he is? The armour is fragile? Did you ever read a FR novel? There are often guys like Jadan, with not perfect armour, 'cause its often hard to get them. When clerics or priests are banished from their temples, they have to take, what they can get.
I also don't think he could be a jester. He seems very dreamy, that's right. But after everything I have expirienced, it is usual under priests, especially under the fallen ones. More of, if they are good and not evil.
The smile is quite similar to the crooked smiles of Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Indiana Jones.
Maybe you are right about the armour, but I think it is realistic and suits him well, with that background story.
Who needs perfection? True heroes never ;-)
Have fun!

Yup! Phaere said it all.
I just wanted to point out that the armor is asymmetrical which is strange since humans tend to have symmerical bodies.
His facial expression is also very hard to describe, yet interesting. Looks a bit dreamy - almost like a CG-character .
The armour does look a bit strange. On one hand it looks very sturdy and uncomfortable to wear, on the other hand it also looks extremely fragile as if it wouldn't even hold a dagger.
Dunno what it is, but it just has an odd feeling about it, so I agree with Selvan.
This character however is entirely odd, but somehow it suits him well. He seems to have an enormous chin, but it is in proportion to the rest of his face. Also the huge smile is kind of distracting but he is entirely so.
I also feel the dark colour of the background doesn't match his cloak.
I'd see this character more in the role of a jester than anything else. :)
Selvan, I'm curious what is wrong with his armor. Looks fine to me, but maybe you are seeing something I have missed.

Wow, wonderful, Olivia!!! And this great background story :-) The eyes are special here. They are beautiful and everything :-) A thousand times better than my Shorrax or Mage Apprentice. I never could use that model in a way, I wanted, but you have done a very very very well job, My Lady :-)
