I had a yuan-ti female on my list of pics to do for ages, and here she is finally. The skin was murder! I had this small picture of snakeskin and I had to create a texture for the whole body. In the end I feel it's turned out pretty well. I have used a celebrity as base image and I am curious if anyone will recognize her underneath all those scales. Added background, lighting effects, recolouring, the usual deal, but I kept it all quite simple.

I love most of your stuff but I don't like how she looks... I think she should not have a human nose or human eyes, she also looks to friendly for a yuan-ti... Just my opinion It's not anything against your drawing skills It;s just how she is portrayed...

Actually, yuan-ti were created by drinking some kind of brew that they used in their worship. The yuan-ti abominations, the ones who are most snakelike, are the ones who bred with true snakes to keep the snake qualities once the secret of the brew was lost; the pureblood yuan-ti, such as this picture represents, are the ones who bred with humans to do so. They were, in fact, human, but were genetically altered (more or less) and then bred; the later generations were more humanoid.
GREAT PORTRAIT. I don't thing that was strong enough, so here's some exclamation points: !!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I'd have thought that you'd have made the scales a bit smaller in comparison with the size of the being. I'd hate having to continually rip pieces of clothing off every time they snagged on a scale...

Olivia, I believe Yuan-Ti are humans who have degenerated into having snake-like traits from their worship of degenerate gods.
That said, great portrait... hmm, I wonder if I can convince a DM to let me play a yuan-ti. [cackles madly]

I like the background. Fits in well.. Maybe try to use it on some picture of a vampire or rogue, too.. ;-) Would be a shame to use it only for one picture.. Hmhmhm. Or what about a draconian in front of this ? That would be great, too. Especially for all those DL freaks like Iam ;) Nice work.Ja khaless zhah waela
Thanks for the comments, first of all. About the size of the scales: I think smaller scales would lose its detail in the game portraits because the pic will be too small then. Also I tried to create her after the NWN Yuan-ti creature (and that one had the same size scales more or less).
Yes, it is Carrie-Ann Moss. Well spotted :)
excellent, the only thing i see that could use any touch-up is her chest by her left (my perspective not hers) shoulder, kinda looks a little too indented. But the idea and... well, everything else is beautiful. Keep'em comin

Your work is great, but I think she's looking a little too friendly, just IMHO.

Well, she IS a large animal and larger animals tend to have larger scales. These look incredible!
Just one little objection (and this is really at the D&D person responsible for first representing Yuan-Ti females this way), if a Yuan-ti is a snake creature, it should not have breasts. That's a mammalian trait.
perhaps if the scales were smaller they'll look more like scales....as of right now, when I look at the small pic that focuses on her face, it looks like she's wearing mesh...just my opnion.Timmy C.
