Isabelle performs as a bard in the courts of the most influential people in Faerun. Though she is highly sought after as a flutist, her charisma, her quick mind and her profession make her valuable to the intelligence community as well. Isabelle is the second in a series of collaborations between us. This one is a combination of photomanip and painting. Comments and constructive criticism are most welcome. So are ratings. :)
Firiel: Thanks. :D
The background is the throne room of Neuchwenstein (sp?) Castle. Selvan gave us a portrait of a sultan in one of the living rooms of the same castle, though I did not realize it until later. It's a beautiful place.

I really like this! What an improvement :) It's a very convincing character, the perfect bard.
Which building did you use for the background? It seems somehow familiar(at least for me).

Great work, but still needs a little edge to be perfect.

Very good picture. It's very smooth and still sharp. The hair looks great. You are improving greatly, keep up the good work. :)
I do have to agree about the hairline, the smallest indication of little hairs coming from her forehead can make a big difference. I am not too crazy about the background either, it is a little too pixeled compared to her but the whole colour scheme is very attractive. Beautiful eyes. ;)
Wow! Thank you for the positive comments. :D I've learned a lot from Isabelle and now I get to learn from her viewers.
@ Selvan:
1) Her eyebrows ARE painted lines. The original model had plucked-chicken eyebrows. I'm trying to find a happy medium between painted lines and the real thing. Apparently this wasn't it. Thank you for being honest. :)
2) Eyeliner! I knew I forgot something!
3) You're right about the hairline. It's just meant to be fantastically tidy hair. ;) I'll keep that in mind for the next one.
Keep 'em coming folks! We want to know what we're doing right and what we can do better.
beeaaauutiful!!! the portrait conveys the message that she's welcoming you to the palace, or something like that...Timmy C.

It's nice, but all the edges are too sharp.

I like this a lot. Still: Some hopefully constructive criticism...
1) I'd use the smudge-tool (or whatever) to make the eyebrows appear more realistic. They are like painted lines now.
2) The darkest color in her hair (almost black) doesn't match the darkest color in her eyes (dark-gray). In other words: Use some (modest) black eye-liner ;-)
3) The hair-line is too plain. Maybe that's intended if she's wearing a wig - in that case I apologize.
That's about it.
Good job. One of my favorite portraits of your's so far.
