Oh my god! I put a hell lot of time and effort into this one and now I don't even know if it was worth it. The lighting was especially difficult to handle. Take a look at the base image and you'll probably understand what I'm talking about: http://www.schuetzenkreis-saulgau.de/images/hintergrund_bogenschuetze1a.jpg . Hope someone finds a use for her. (UPDATED: see below) Comments most welcome.
@Firiel_of_Imrith: I reckon your comment refers to my Wood Elf portrait? Never mind. Thanks a lot!

Uh, this is as a wild elf should look like! Better not to move...
And please don't add anything, I like this archaic look :)
The colour scheme is wonderfull.

Ah, okay, closer to the viewer... that's right.
Sorry to be that fussy, but then I think the shadow can't be straight. Must follow the shirt-line, maybe? *grin*
Thanks a lot!
I imagine the light coming directly from the left.
Therefore the shadow of the upper bowstring "passes" the nose and the lower shadow can be seen on her breast/shoulder because it's closer to the viewer. I think... ;)

Very cool character indeed!
I don't know where the shadow of the bowstring was first, but I think as the light comes from the left and a little from the back the shadow must be much more right. Or am I wrong? Because the upper part has no shadow...
Love your work :)
Wow! Thanks for your honest and detailed critique!
Seems I made more mistakes than changes ;)
No, honestly: I already tried to apply some changes you suggested. Take a look! The armpit looks still funny but I checked it - it is quite realistic now. I added the indication of the triceps and elbow, redid the gauntlet and moved the bowstring-shadow a little.
Well, the wrist-angle... That doesn't strike me as too important.

Looking forward to more comments on this one.

The armpit needs the most work; it looks like plastic and the muscles framing it are not well done, also, you have the shadow of the bowstring but not the hand. The wrist could use a little better shading. Lastly, the angle of the wrist holding the bowstring is off; try pulling a bow of any serious draw and not have your wrist in line with your forearm!
Note that all of these flaws except the shadow are present in the source image.
