Rayithe was created from several pictures. Usual photo-collage technique. I tried to work on the details in this one. Rayithe is the most evil character I have created yet. She is known for her bleeding eyes, and her vicious nature. Sources: base image of Xena with her horse. I added a lot of textures and armour pieces, clothing, background lighting effects, etc.

Ouch. She looks VERY evil to me. Nice job once again, though that's no surprise.

is her horse tattooed? what a cool idea! (probably makes him/her cranky, though.) i like the blood. and the hair and the capeness going on, and everything, *except* her face. just, the scars/tattoos seem a little incoherent, and kind of distract from her face and expression. if it's a tattoo, maybe a more definite pattern relegated to one side of her face/cheek, and if they're scars, they shouldn't be so dark/purply.
very nice work, overall.

Thank you Nirrael, for your detailed and useful comments on my picture.
I must say: I have quite long hair myself, but I do tend to braid it, because it annoys me occasionally, so I can get into the fact it may be in the way. I just like long hair, and therefor depict it flowy and wavy. I usually don't think practical on pictures: hence the cape which could trip the horse :) You're right about that, ofcourse.
Especially since you are someone who rides horses I take it you speak from experience. :D
And besides that: she wouldn't look so impressive anymore if the horse tripped and launches her into the swamp. ;)
Really a great portrait, Phaere! I love almost everything about this pisture! And she does look evil to me! The problem is that most people tend to see evil characters only somber or sullen looking, but I think it is not always a case, and most of the time I imagine evil chars with a nasty grin, or half notisable smirk. And your blackguard has exactly this type of evil and merciless expression. I could swear she is thinking something like: "Yeah, baybe, take one last good look at this world before you go to meet your ansesters..." Well, at least this is what she told me :p As for hair... Well, people, I have my hair to the middle of my butt for as long as I can remember, and last time I breided it or took out of the way in any fascion was ... let me see... about 10 years ago! And TRUST me I have a very active life-style, which includes horse-back riding, sword fighting, archery and heavy roleplaying, and I mean not computer roleplaying (well, that one too, of course) I mean roleplaying in the real forest, with and against other REAL people. Well, I bet you all know what I mean. And I never breid or take my hair out of the way. It is always free, and I have to say I can NOT imagine my hair being braided or anything like that. So it is all only a metter of a habbit. The only my chritisism is about her cape. IT IS DANGEROUS!!! I'm serious! Trust me, you DON'T WANT to see WHAT'S gonna happen if that cloack gets entingled between horse's legs. And that is about to happen right the next moment if this pic to become alive! Other than that a totally awesome portrait. Though I guess it will be most suitable for the NWN 2 if they keep their promise and implement rideable horses in that game ;)
I'm not bad... I'm just a Succubus...

@ Selvan: I tend to agree about the hair. Except that women who live with long hair have a special sense of where that hair is at all times. Mine used to be quite long. Artistically the long hair makes sense. Practically...I would have it out of the way.
I like the horse, the woman's armor, the background, the color-scheme and the idea.
I don't like the length of her hair (she could easily step on it), and that flowing cloth which looks like a kidnapped mermaid.

As usual the portrait itself is stunning, but I have to agree, doesn't really look evil. Looks more like her make up is running. maybe a bit more emphasis on the blood, and maybe a real haughty scowl on the face?
