Created from a base image of a girl from Xena, added head, hair, pieces, armour pieces and textures to change original outfit, background etc. Well you know how I work.

Consider myself chastened Olivia, let me clarify. I was not referring to some of the advice she gets that has artistic merit (as in yours and a few others) but there tends to be a lot of people who like to throw in their two cents, who wouldn't know a number 2 pencil from a pink Crayola crayon. true constructive criticism is a valuable tool and I know that I like to get it when I create something. let me also say that I was referring to posts I had read regarding other portraits I have observed. I chose to post on this portrait because it was one of the most recent, and I thought that it would most likely be responded to here. It is nice to see that Phaere has strong support here on the vault. She well deserves it.

I'm not such as a huge Phaere-fan as I like my portraits less "photographic". However this one seems nice. Could use slightly more focus on the secondary parts. Still...Steinin _________________________

@ goblin: The ONLY reason Phaere gets any criticism at all from any of us is that she and we accept and understand that no artist, however skilled, is perfect. And we all accept and understand that getting comments from others is one of the best ways to open our eyes to imperfections we might not otherwise recognize. I deeply appreciate it when Phaere and others find time to critique my work. That said, I'm a huge Phaere fan. I wouldn't post the way I do if I weren't. :) So you can relax. You're among friends. :D

As a portrait this is useful but the lighting of the face doesn't match that of the rest and the disproportions showing in the big picture are much to large (personal opinion I know it's allways a lot of good and thorough work).

Some of you people out there must be insane to criticize these portraits!!! As far as I've seen, Phaere is the best, hands down, source of beautiful portraits on the vault. (my god Phaere, you must spend half your life working on these d--- things) That said I realize that some constructive criticism is helpful, but Gawd it must be annoying to have some chump posting "duh her arrow is backwards" ok yes it was but it is the little picture that sits in the corner of your screen when you play a game!! please just be happy knowing that you have one of the best character portraits on the net!! btw is there any way to get your collection outside of a hak? I mean without individually downloading the whole lot of them. Thankyou for you wonderful work and all the time you have put towards making others virtual lives more beautiful:)

Gorgeous, mesmerizing art. Detail is stunning.

Heh. Phaere just wants a horde because then she could talk them into posing for source photos. ;) This one is lovely. I especially love the patterns in the fabric and on her belt. The background is wonderfully moody. For some reason, her hair bothers me. If I figure it out I'll let you know. Also, some parts of the portrait look much more painted than the other parts.

I made her jawline less square to make her more elven, and it did something funny with her head and the pose of it. Something's off anyway, argh! Same problem happened with Aislynn, although it didn't bug me so much with her. BTW: I used this exact head picture before, and I am curious if anyone has recognized her. :D
