40 Male Classical Japanesse Portraits taken from original 18th to 19th Century Artwork. I am hoping the dates of the originals exclude them from any copywrite violations, if not, my apologies. In my meager attempts to work on Oriental projects, I have found a large limit to Oriental Portraits. I hope these can fill some gaps, or help create a interesting game enviroment for someone out there.
Yea in many ways the search is better. I found some great artists of the style and period, many of which are not included in the packs. (Like Kogyo Tsukioka, who's work is incredible.)
I'm not as sure if people's dislike for anything in particular is as much race/sex-ism, as it's simply a matter of it's not 'what they are into'. It's a shame so many people are very willing to shoot down what they dont care for, but that's the way it is, I guess.. specially when included with childish comments.
Personally I'm gonna try not to mind. I didnt leave the 'reply' option open to get a bunch of pat's on the back. I left it open to chat about things, particularly the source material. If the comments turn negetive, that's cool, if they turn childish, that's cool too... I can always just ignore the thread and not worry about it. After all, I did what I came to do, I dropped up a few portraits as some kinda return payment for all the help I have recieved from here (and yea, I know, my return payment is pretty cheap compared to what I came away with :))
And I'm sure, despite the comments, at least some people have found a good use for your effort, and that's what it really boils down to. Trying to lend a hand, in some small way or another :)

Never worry about whether or not a portrait fits the 'norm'. If you think it is cool, go ahead and upload it. Chances are, many people will agree with you and be thankful you did.
And yes, one can get literally lost in searches. I've noticed the searching takes far longer than the portraits ever do, but never notice the time flying by. :)
To Nur Ab Sal, I dig Oriental girls myself, but what I said is truth. Go through the vault and compare all of the Oriental and Black portrait ratings to the Caucasion ratings, then compare the votes from the same people on each. ;)"Me Go Beer!" - Mr. Dave _________________________ Me go beer!
Many thanks,
Actually this set was a very fun to make, and by the obvious differences between the 2 classical ones and the 2 others, my first attempt. I actually have near 165 portraits in this style, but unfortunately I abandoned them for the more polished, and game friendly, other sets.
I think what was the funnest part of this set was the research and getting to browes through not only the wonderful artwork of this style and period, but the associated history with it.
Like my other sets, I cant claim the artwork. All I did was render some clean up (and some pictures needed alot) and set the NWN formats. I know this lessen the packs some, but as I posted elsewhere, it's my little contribution back to a community that I have gotten so much from.
Thanks for the comments, and I hope these sets help add to a very nice option for NWN."Victory is a Fleeting Momment, Survival a Lifelong Struggle." ~The Olde Knygt

What are you babbling? Are you sick or what?? I love asian babes and everything else! Maybe your artwork is just lame and that's why people criticize it! Besides I rate Knygt's superb pack 10!
