Created for the campaign setting of Darksun. Intended to be a guard. I made him a little more eccentric than originally intended but I still feel he fits the guard-type. Created with a unknown male model from models.com (my new favourite source for pics), added textures, and fur. I painted a lot more area's on this one, the underlying clothing, the outercloak.

I like him, he looks a little mad, but in a good way...

Very nice. I definitely like it.
For those who don't know, templars are the priests of the evil (and extremely powerful) sorcerer-kings in the Dark Sun world. Even though they bear no resemblance to the Knights Templar of history, the title actually makes more sense for the Dark Sun priests (temple, templar).

One of your best. He's different, which I like, tho... Faerun's a big place, no? Surely there must be different hairstyles in different places. Love the tattoos, too. All in all this character has an almost birdlike quality that's really evocative.
This is a really nice one. I have issues though. One being my own likes and dislike so it doesn't count (being his haircut) the other is with the design on the cloak. it looks to me like it is floating on top, or more-so projected onto the surface. I really like the effect but it makes me wonder about how to texturize it to appear as the fur of the cloak. really fantastic work though.
These pictures are for Link I know some things about the DS World and I find it inspiring to work with new races and types of characters.
Olivia: The title Templar was named for me, because the one I made this for found it very suitable with the character. :D
Thanks for all the input.

Nice portrait. I think you nailed the look of the clothing for Gulg. A mix between Inca and Bedouin. Are you working on a DS campaign? If so drop me a line [email protected]
I have been thinking about trying to do some work on an Athas project for a while now. I might wait until NWN2 so I can polish up my modeling skills some more.

The name "Templar" generally makes me think of the Knights Templar...who looked nothing like the gentleman in this picture. However, I LOVE this portrait. It's not one I'd personally use, because he doesn't look to me like the kind of character I'd play, but I'm downloading him anyway.
I especially like the multi-ethnic influences in his attire.

good portrait, but I'm not too sure about that cloak... it seems wrong somehow, I think it's too "blurred" compared to the rest.
But it's downloaded, you know I've got a job to do... :)
