Thank you so much Phaere and Olivia. Your constructive comments mean alot to me. I think I have improved from my last portraits. I tried to keep this one sharper, but I have lots of creativity and no drawing ability.

As Phaere said, there's potential here.

If you're going to use filters (I still do) be sure to lighten the effect afterward to keep the filter from being so obvious.

Keep up the good work. We need more actual worked-on art here. Even though the quality of original art like this (and like mine!) can't compare with famous art, I appreciate it so much more when I know the artist did her own work, rather than just steal someone else's art.

I think this has potential, but just needs more work. The light in the face is a little brighter than the rest of the body, and is not entirely consistent with the background. Also the hair could use a little more detail, some indication of hairs.
I like that you used pictures of yourself. Good work :)
ps. try avoiding Photoshop or PSP filters, they don't improve the painted look of the image because they look too generic.

Hey,

I think the picture is good. The only "lame" thing is people who post obnoxious comments and are too cowardly to even put their name up. Constructive criticism is one thing, but just slamming those who take the time and effort to contribute to the community is b.s.

First of all...thanks for that mature and intelligent comment.
Second. The portrait happens to be myself, and at least this is all my own work and I don't steal other people's art and post it as my own.
Third... If you don't like it. Than don't download it. It may not be great, but I've seen worse.

god i wish people would stop just taking pictures of their mom or their sister or their girlfriend or whatever and trying to photoshop them into fantasy backgrounds. the results are invariably LAME
