Calandra the Elven Mage is on the warpath, looking for those lousy kobolds who trampled her flower garden. Created from a photo of a well known actress (won't tell you who it is unless you guess ;). The dress I got from http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/15112577. UPDATE: Made several fixes according to feedback.

Oh, dear lord -- this is perfect for my character Kiraleen!

It still looks a tad blurry to me. And I don't see Jessica Alba, so I think you've done nicely.
Great concept and wonderful job with the expression. She looks like someone to give a wide berth for awhile.

Definately has the "evil eye"

She looks like someone is REALLY in for a blast that's going to just leave a pair of smoking boots. Though she also has a bit of sinisterism( is that a word? ) about her if you'd consider she's not angry. At any rate, at the moment in the very least I'd steer clear of her.

Sinister I can live with. That's a lot better than "freakishly wall-eyed" :) Aside from "balancing" her eyes, I softened all of the shadows on her face. Also added more shading to the BG and her hair and softened some sharp edges throughout, though I'm not sure this completely addresses Selvan's issues :( All in all, I'm a lot happier with her too. Thanks for the advice!
Much much better. Though she looks quite sinister now, or maybe she did already. :D
I wouldn't turn my back on her at least or accept a drink from her.
Thanks for all the suggestions! Guess I should stop making these things at 3 in the morning :) BTW, I did kind of have that old Aerie portrait in mind when I was making her. And don't worry Poecile, Jessica is now off my list of officially sanctioned celebs ;)
I have to agree that there's something odd about the picture. And it's not just her eyes (I think the darker one should be some 2 or 3 pixels lower)...
1.) There should be some hair-strands in front of her shoulder as well to avoid the impression of "layers".
2.) Her neck ist very muscular compared to her rather slim face.
3.) The level of sharpness, contrast and shadow-depth throughout the picture is inconsistent: She seems to be standing in front of a canvas rather than a forest.

No, you know what it is? There is a weird shadow under her right eye (for us, her left eye), it's like she has a bag under her eye, or a bump of skin on her cheek. I mean the eyes themselves aren't really weird, Aerie had those eyes as well. :D
If you were to even the colours on that spot I think she will be perfect.
I think the general consensus is that her eyes make her face look weird. I'll probably do a little more work on her to see if I can fix that. Guess great minds think alike on the dress thing :)
Ha! That dress does look familiar. I have used it in a pic as well, lockstock has some great poses with these dresses at DeviantArt. :D Nice work, but she does have a strange face, I can't explain why.
The eyes frighten me. Other than that, very cool.Timmy C.
