I love elven archers I think. ;) Another one. This one I would like to write a story with, this picture depicts him wandering through the haunted Ringwoods. I am trying to create a world (more written than in NWN), and use all the characters I have ever made to play a role in that world. Uriq was created from a base image at Deviant Art, added head from models.com, armour pieces used to create new armour, yes the lower part was from the elven armour of LOTR for those fanatics out there ;) Hope you like him, I am most pleased with this portrait. :D

This seems different from you other works...more like a candid image while out in the forest instead of a posed portrait.

I like the color pallet, gives a good deep forest feel. The lighting was also a good match. Armor does look cool.

Nice archer! My only complaint is that the archer himself only takes up about half the picture; the background is way too dominant!

This is very, very good, but I wish you'd do one of a female elf with a bow. I can't find a single portrait anywhere for a female arcane archer. All of the portraits of elven archers seem to be male.
Still, I'm downloading this anyway. :)

I appreciate the detailed comment a lot, Barney thanks :D
I have to say though, that the overwhelming feeling is a little what i was going for. He is walking in a haunted forest and I imagine it there are sounds and howling whispers coming from every direction. Not knowing where to look he wanders with his bow drawn for action through the woods. I agree with you on the simple background thing, I have done a few portraits with much simpler backgrounds, but sometimes I feel the pic needs a detailed picture or just a few lights and colours. I prefer the first mostly. :)

This work deserves high earnings. I would love to see more work like this and in the differing careers of elves.

I've gotta say Phaere, you have definitely perfected the art of retouching photographs. You should get a job working for the National Inquirer or the Weekly World News, making those fake photos of the Loch Ness Monster and two headed babies from Brazil. The integration of the elements here is fantastic. The armor is great and definitely has an "elven" feel to it. At first glance I would think this was a PR shot from LOTR. My only real complaint is that this looks more like a PR shot from LOTR rather than a NWN portrait. Also, as is often the case with your portraits, I find that the background really overwhelms the character. You should check out the Mona Lisa (probably the most famous portrait of all time). While Mona herself looks great, the background is so simple and understated it could have been done by a five year old. The point being, that in a good portrait your attention is on the subject. Here, it seems like Uriq really gets lost in the overall composition. Oh, and I agree with you - his hands and face are fine. His left shoulder might be a little funky though but you barely notice since it all just blends into the background ;).

Awesome as always, the background detail is fantastic!
Thanks for all the comments. I personally don't feel his hands and/or head are too big, I measured it out correctly I think. :)
Drow version coming up soon, uploading it now. :D
