Night Vendiviel was a jewel of her theatre, an actress, a singer and a magnificent blade dancer. She knew nothing but the intriguing life of a performer and wanted nothing else. Yet the time of happiness was quickly replaced with anguish and despair as she becomes involved in the series of dark and somber events as a great plague starts in Neverwinter. My new HotU character Night Vendiviel. Shes a Bard/Rogue/Shadowdancer. In this pic I wished to capture the moment of her turning to shadow. The face was modeled in Poser5. Still 90% of the picture is Photoshop work. And the katana is my own 3D Max creation. I have but one humble request to all who might like my portraits. All these works are done entirely by me and are my copyrighted material. I do wish to share them with you and youre all welcome to have them as portraits for your characters. Yet I beg of you not to alter or use them as a clipart material for your own art works. Thank you very much for understanding.

First of all, let me congratulate you on posting some original artwork on this site. It takes real grapes to put your work on display for so many extremely critical eyes.
That said, I looked at your other work, and you make some really great stuff. This one falls slightly short of your standard, though. The katana is pretty, but I'm not crazy about the way she's holding it. It seems artificial, as if posed for a photograph. The same goes for her body language. She looks as if she's about to say something, but started to fade away accidentally at the same time.
Out of context, each individual feature is designed well. But, as a composition, this piece seems a little awkward.
I like the fade effect, though. It's an effective and orrignal idea. I would fade the right side of her hair (which is her left), though, and darken her left (our right) eye.
At any rate, great job, and keep producing top notch portraits! _________________________ soundless tones of dreamers tongue

I'm not entirely satisfied with the fading effect either, but I can't explain why. I love the concept and the rest of the portrait. Beautiful work as usual.
Hi everyone. Just to clarify something up. Qirien asked me this question:
...Your copyright terms are a little confusing . . . do you mean that you don't want people to use this portrait for NPCs in their own mods? Just wondering . . .
Youre are more than welcome to use this portrait for your NPC in your custom modules. What I meant is I ask of you not to change or alter her in any way which is recolor her hair, skin, change clothing paste her on a different background or use part of her for some of your art piece, and especially present it as your own piece of work. Because I already had such a thing happen once. Someone downloaded my image and altered it quiet a bit and posted it on some website telling everyone its his own homegrown hand-made image. That was rather unpleasant to find. You are also welcome to post my art on your web site as well, as long as you state clearly who is the artist (my first and last names are available at my bio). You can resize picture to fit your page or window, but please do not crop it or change in any of the above stated ways. I hope this will clarify things up for you. And yes this concerns all of my works I submit to Valut, and those you can find on my Elfwood page. If you have more questions feel free to contact me.

Great work!

I love it. Though i would like to see it with other weapons of such quality. Makes me want to apply for the shadowdancer on CoA.

Just awesome. This is one of the best portriats I seen. Hoping that you will release the katana as a NWN weapon (though it probably has a high polycount)

Very nicely done. I love the fade effect you have displayed. That is one nice katana as well. It has a wonderful design on the blade. Keep up the great work!
Very Excellent. Awesome fading effect! Timmy C.
