More fan-art portraits for CDProjekt's up and coming first person RPG. This is the Executioner, and I'm willing to bet that when The Witcher comes out next year, we won't be wanting to meet this guy in-game.
Simply unzip these to your portraits directory to use them for your own characters. **YOU MAY HAVE TO CREATE THIS DIRECTORY YOURSELF**
Again, all credits to the original authors.. the executioner himself being by CDProjekt.
I just did a clean cut of the executioner, put in the background and added the shadow.
Enjoy!
No problem! Let me know if you have any trouble with it! :) (Or any other Photoshop questions. If I can help, I will!) _________________________ "So many people look, but never see."

DaleV, thank you! That was very generous of you. I appreciate the time you took to give good directions. Now I'll have to run off and try it myself! :D
It's actually a rather simple process. To create my shadows, I do the following (photoshop users):
1. Create a copy of your subject. (Assuming you have it cut cleanly from wherever you got it from.)
2. Put this layer behind the subject.
3. Do a color overlay of pure black on our copied version.
4. Use Ctrl-T to enter "Transform" mode on your new shadow.
5. Hold the CTRL button down, which will allow you to "free-transform" and drag/distort the shadow onto the ground to your liking. (This takes some guess work on the artist's part.)
6. Once you have the pure black version of your subject "laying" on the ground in which ever direction you prefer, drop the shadow's opacity to 30-40 (However dark you'll need it, depending on your background's lighting)
7. Apply a guassian blur to the shadow to make it fuzzy. Play with this option and blur to your liking, until you feel it looks natural. Harder lights are going to create more defined shadows, and dimly lit areas will create more fuzzy shadows.
That's it! Enjoy! _________________________ "So many people look, but never see."

If I knew what language that was, I'd run it through a translator. :) _________________________ "So many people look, but never see."

And now that I look at it (and do it) that pic makes one awesome windows background, if I do say so myself. :) (And I do) _________________________ "So many people look, but never see."
