This is one of my all-time favorites! I use it for a Sorceror. It's perfect! Thank you very much. _________________________ "I Am The Land"

You know, i've been trying to figure out how you get your backgrounds to meld realistically with the character without over using the soften tool. Damn I need practice :/ _________________________ "Diluted Water!"

Great work Phaere! This looks perfect for an arcane caster class.
A quick suggestion - add some (red) wings and perhaps some dragonic horns and he'll become a wonderful Red dragon disciple. ;-) _________________________ The signature is on vacation. I wish I could join it.

A really nice painting, I'm going to have to create an NPC with a great personality match it.
Thanks for sharing.

Excellent - just what I need for one character - although getting the head model in the char creator to match the hair in the picture is tricky :(
It's been classified as an "arcane archer"....is this correct !?!?!

omg! I cannot believe three of my works are in the top three. Thanks for all the votes guys, I personally believe there are works in the HOF that deserve to be higher than mine, but I am honoured nonetheless. :)

You are welcome and I will :-).
I wouldn't say that I am a lighting pro - I just learned that good lighting is extremly important (even more in the 3d-section wherer I work more). And sometimes I can't articulate what is "wrong" with the light - within this portrait a I was lucky if I found out ;-). And I didn't really expect you to go over this work once again (judging from my own habbits).
Have fun creating!

Definitley not a very humble guy (you transported the expression and stance of arrogance very well - which was your intention as far as I understand). Also the overall mood and impression of the picture is very fitting.
But he seems to be posted in a photostudio with no real correspondence to the background (sounds harsher than it's meant). I think because of mainly two reasons:
Here and there, shadow is missing or wrong (the lower seam of his robe should be darker, the shadow on the stairs seems odd compared to light-direction and his form). Also some little streaks of light (i.e. on his arms) may be physically correct but help to distach him from the background. A tiny little bit of blurbrush on his contour might help to integrate him more with his background (worked wonders with me).
The second thing are the golden ornaments on his robe. They don't follow the deformation of the folds (at least it seems so to me) a little deformation might help. They also seem to float above the fabric (but it could be very thin gauze).
Not to be misunderstood: this is not meant to diminish a very good portrait (see votes if you don't believe it ;-) ) but some of Phaeres comments to my work helped me rethink (even if I seldom take a "finished" work into my hands again) and I wanted to return a bit (if I failed - just ignore it Phaere ;-) ). And I may be wrong but these are my thoughts or as we say here: I built turrets (which are of no importance for the use as a portrait - but phaeres pictures tend to have more use than just a portrait in NWN).
