Carmella(sorceress/blackguard) with her imp familiar 'Cherub'. always found playing NWN as an evil character and achieving the objectives somewhat contradictory. but i wanted to play a blackguard and felt the portrait should represent this contradiction. i wanted an image both beautiful and ugly, seductive and repulsive. the tone of the image is purposefully dark and subdued, but vibrant and barroque in its detail. ---photoshop collage, hand sketching, painted palette knife strokes, and digital photography. took a while, so i hope you like it as much as i do. the large image you see on this site is only used when you first create your PC. i felt there was a bit too much going on for the charactersheet image, so i cropped out the scythe and decapitated head on the left. if ya prefer the full image for your character sheet, just change the 'carmella_H.tga file from 256x512pixels to 128x256px and save it as carmella_L.tga 24bits/pix, overwriting the original carmella_L.tga file.

Two heads over-kill? I think not! She's obviously using them as her weapons of choice! Can't you just picture her swinging them in deadly arcs? Her imp is scolding her for nearly squashing him flat with one of 'em. I wonder what the off-hand penalty is for two handed heads-on-chains?

Yes, this is very well done! Attention to detail is excellent Chubby imp? Must be well fed, although I dread to ask what she feeds it.

A bit busy for a character portrait, but very compelling.

Good and gross, perfect for a Blackguard. Now this is something you don't see often, and this is the first one I've seen done well. A Female Blackguard.

good eye....it is indeed angelique...and the "imp" is from the Twisted Oz series (also a favorite of mine).

Very nice artwork. It reminds me a bit of Clive Barker's Hellraiser series, particularly the demoness Angelique. I can never quite get the gist of playing an evil rp character, but I adore Clive Barker... well done.

It finally dawned on me why this portrait looks so familiar, I have this action figure, Lucidique, from the Tortured Souls collection.

you need WinRAR to open a .rar file(or WinAce maybe?) winRar is free to download if you don't have it. once ya have winrar installed, open the file and extract its contents into your NWN portraits folder. you should download WinRar anyway coase its much better than Zip, and can still read Zip files.

Actually Dogmanthing Cherubs are the spirits of dead children. Its a catholic thing. But yeah its a joke anyway.
Posted by El Agua ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-07-02 09:22:00
I believe that 'Cherub' is just the imp's name, probably chosen because the imp is anything BUT angelic, although it can also be used to describe a chubby, rosy person, which the imp clearly is. Anyway, I prefer the more "sarcastic" use. The name "Cherub" for an imp is just plain funny. :-)
Oh, and so you won't feel slighted, dogmanthing, I curse at you. ;-)

Very Brom'ish.
I like the textures especially.
A nightmare with a touch of humour.
