This is my NWN character, Zhandigal DeVir, a half-drow druid/harper agent. In my storyline, hes the son of Viconia DeVir and my character of Baldurs Gate, the human mage Daljaris (based in the end of the Throne of Bhaal). Built from a Karsten Dahls modification of a BG2 portrait.

It's great that you have so many friends, Zhandigal. I was checking out the comments from all the people who voted for you and it seems that you aren't the only one with "bad english". Hmmm, coincidence I wonder? Like I said before, what makes you truly pathetic isn't your lack of genuine artistic talent, but the fact that you went out of your way to collect votes for something that isn't truly yours. Maybe you should devote your "obsessive attitude" towards something productive like getting a job or a girlfriend.
BTW, why do you automatically assume that everyone who thinks you're a fraud is a fan of Phaere? I agree that some of her work is overrated, but at least she puts some real work into producing it, she doesn't just copy someone else's stuff and change a few colors. Plus, you're so proud of the fact that 2000 people have downloaded your counterfeit portrait. Well, 5000 have downloaded Phaere's Mystra which hasn't even been on the vault as long as this forgery! She may be overrated but don't kid yourself for a second that you're even in the same league, no matter how many friends vote for "your" portrait.

One more thing: if board moderators are reading this (as you say) I think they may be very grateful to the thousands of people all over the world (this includes me) who have spend our time (more or less) to give our works (better or worse) for free with the gratitude as the only (it´s enough) retribution, making of this web page what it is. So I don´t think they spend his time with me (as you do) with stupid and obsessive witch hunt with your balls as the only criteria.
My character, Zhandigal DeVir, is submitted at the character´s section (use the sarcher because he have not any vote). Maybe the character and the screenshots likes you more than my portrait. And maybe you will vote it high...

1-"take credit for it..." What credit? Money maybe? Fame? Prestige? Don´t make me laugh! This is a nice free pull of interchanging portraits, (most of them of a terrible quality, I have to say...).
2-Everyone who puts some portrait here asks his friends to vote it. It´s a usual practice. Do you think you´ve discovered peniciline?
3-My brother matter. I´ve explained it before, but I think you´re not very sharp. It´s easy that if you forget log out of this page and someone uses the same computer to vote my portrait, the vote and the comment appears with my own name. Believe it or not, I don´t mind.
4-You´ve got a bad obsesion with Zhandigal. It´s just a portrait, my character portrait. And for me and for everyone who have download my portrait (about 2000 in 8 months) don´t care about where it comes from, and I have to say that probably they never would known the Karsten´s original if I didn´t modify and submited it.
It´s funny to practice my bad english with you, but I´m sorry because it seems that yor obsessive attitude against my portrait is absolutely useless. It would be better use all this wrath, hate and rage to fight against crime or to win some sport championship.
And don´t worry, nobody reads this stupid filthy fight, just you and me. Have you started against the other thousansd of authors, henchman?

Yes, believe it or not, I can read. And when I look next to the word Author on your submission, it doesn't say Karsten Dahl, it says Zhandigal. So I guess that's where the confusion lies. As far as my "law" goes, I'd say if you're going to steal someone else's work and take credit for it, you should at least make it look significantly different. But you're right, other people on the Vault do the same thing (although I think most people put a little more effort into the process than you've done). I guess what really rubs me the wrong way is that you posted someone else's work under your own name and then went through the trouble of getting all your friends to vote on it. You even went ahead and voted for yourself (please, spare me the "brother" explanation...no one's buying it).
As far as people liking your portrait, I doubt many people like it any better than the original.
On a side note, if any board moderators are reading this, you really need to come up with a different criteria for the Hall of Fame awards. Handing them out to people who basically steal other people's work really undermines the efforts of people who actually earn the award.

Well, in fact I´ve said in my presentation portrait comment (since the beginning) that my portrait is a Karsten Dahl´s original modification (can you read?). Maybe you have your judgement criteries (nobody care about them) based on time spends and percentage of originality (which is the percentage required by the/your law?). The portrait is the portrait of my character, no more nor less. I changed colors to looks like a half-drow (lack of half-drow good portraits in this vault), and changed the eyes to looks-like his father´s portrait (my charater of Baldur´s Gate). Finally, I made the resices adding the necessary filters to get a well appearance in NWN. And it seems people like it.
And now, my dear henchman, if you have some decency as you say, please go to every portrait that don´t carry out your portrait laws right now. You´ll got a lot of work.

Who are you kidding, Zhandigal? Most of the portraits on the vault (even the bad ones) involve some degree of work. Seriously, how did you change the original? How long did it take? Fifteen minutes? I don't have a problem with you turning someone else's work into a game-ready portrait file, but at least have the decency to list Karsten Dahl as the Author of the work and not yourself.
Posted by Zhandigal at 2006-10-03 03:50:10 Voted 10.00
I only hope, Dog, that you will write this same argument in every portraits made from an original picture. In fact, you should say the same in practically EVERY portrait submitd in the vault (Phaere´s included, d´you mean, henchman?).
Posted by BarnYardDog at 2006-09-28 10:59:52 Voted 1.00 on 10/17/06
Wow. When I saw the rating and the number of votes for this pic, I was really expecting so much more. As far as being a "modification" of the original portrait, that's quite an understatement. Basically all you did was add a bit of contrast and you changed the color hue. Whoopee. Having the audacity to present this under your own name shows that your ego is exceeded only by your lack of talent.

Thanks for the support, Finellach. I recognize in every moment that the portrait was a Karsten Dahl´s modification. It´s true, I don´t know who you are, but thaks again to you and to everyone who likes the portrait of my beloved character.
If you have curiousity to see some screenshots of my Half-drow, I´ve submite it in the character´s section of this web.

Actually they're not identical. The portrait is in fact modification of Karsten Dahl's(Karse Soze) portrait made based on Keanu Reeves base and portraits of Haer'Dalis and Valygar from Baldur's Gate 2. However if you look at it better the skin and eyes and also the area between eyes is totally new and improved. It is great and excellent improvement upon Karsten's earlier work and for that this is excellent portrait...it in fact doesn't even look very much like Keanu anymore.
Also I must say the portrait looks exactly how I imagined my half-drow/Crinti character. If anyone doesn't know what Crinti are let's just say they are noble caste from evil nation of Dambrath and are mix between Humans, Half-Elves and Drow...they are described exactly like this guy looks on portrat - they have dusky grey skin, blue eyes and white-silver hair.
Again excellent portrait and great work very well done. And also I don't have nothing to do with Zhandighal...I didn't even heard of him until I cam here looking for portraits. Cheers.
