The official version of the Throne of Bhaal says that Viconia died a few years after the birth of his son (male), killed by a Lolths maiden. But, what if Daljaris and Viconia DeVir would have a daughter instead a son? Heres a possible answer in this portrait done from a picture of Peachysticks.
drow are taken from mythological dark elves described as having a complexion like that of the night sky. The last time I checked, the sky at night is not always exactly pitch black. As long as it is nearly black, it works.

mmmhuh, thats what im talking about. though this female portraiting is turning more into a miss world display rather than a real character usage. _________________________ The enemy of my enemy is my friend. And I have a lot of enemies. So where the fock are those friends?!
"Half- drow have the white or silver hair of their elven fathers, but their skins are not the polished obsidian of a full drow - they are a dusky grey. Their eye- colour takes after the human ethnic group of their mothers so can be a wide range of colours. The Drow of Toril are smaller than the other elves, and Faerunian half-drow are closer in physique to the half elves of other worlds than to the common half elf."

And then there's the infamous deep dragon of Elaine Cunningham's Liriel Baenre stories, who'd turn into a drow with PURPLE skin...:)
Various members of House Baenre (including Gromph and Liriel) had amber-hued eyes.
...but I'm rambling. Love the pic. She's got Viccy's haughtiness :)

The colours are from novels of R. A. Salvatores (Icewinddale trilogie, War of the spiderqueen). I think all humanoid races in D&D could have various appearances depandand of their herritage and tribe. But you are right in the campaign book of the forgotten realms drow are descriped as creatures with obsidian skin. Hey but I love this artwork of Zhai anyway. A moon elf/ drow? This could be the reason for her blue eyes, exceptions rule.
Well, but those are EXCEPTIONS (lavander eyer of Drizzt or red hair of Vhearaun followers). For me the word of D&D books is LAW, and I never read anywhere (novels or rulebooks, I mean) tha a drow have blue skin. A drow have black skin and white hair. If you have seen pictures of blue-skinned drows is an artist interpretation (I think it´s a mistake) as if I decite to draw a drow with pink skin. ;)

Not exactly right! Most drow have black skin and white hair but this is only the archetype. In forgotten realms their skin-colour varies from black to dark blue, their hair-colour from white to red (Gromnir Archmage of Menzoberranzan) and their eye-colour from red to puple (Drizzt Do'Urden).
Answering Niemroth, a drow has BLACK (neither brown nor grey)skin and white hair. Do you think this pretty girl has black skin? The problem is that a lo tof fantasy artists have draw drows with grey skin. My half-drow conception is based first of all on the D&D book Races of Faerun´s description of half-drows, and in second terme on serious half-drow illustrations like Todd Lockwood´s artwork and the Demon´s Stone video-game character Zhai (although she´s a half-drow half- moon elf, my argument is valid to the hal-drow half human charcters). Thanks for your vote, and your opinion.

I love this picture. But why half-drow? It could be used for real a drow-character as well.
