this is a request for a 'majestic' dark robed wizard with short hair. i wanted to keep the image simple and let the design of the robe/cloak do all the work with the paleness of his face to provide stark contrast. SOURCES: male model(not sure who it is), priest robe, raven wings, and a ring. comments and critiques appreciated.
This reminds me of the character from the mod on the vault, Necromancer... Awesome job"It is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you're an idiot, than to open it, and remove all doubt..." - Mark Twain

Nice one, especially because it's one of the few really good male portraits one can find at the Vault. _________________________ Ever wanted a hotbar for party commands, or a separated Bard bar, or ... ? xUI - Major NWN2 UI Enhancement

Great villian portrait. Or perhaps necromancer. Nice but not over the top. Good work. I would have liked a bit more detail in the bottom part of the robes.

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 33 that made this score of 8.30 then rounded to 8.

Kind of reminds me of Stuart Townsend a bit, there.

hey, thanks again for the kind words.
i was debating the "youthful" appearance, especially because i knew what i wanted to do with the robe. But i had just watched "The Omen" and "The Omen 2" and i loved how oblivious Damien was to the turn his life would take (the antichrist). so i thought it would be kinda cool if the character in the portrait had that same predicament. i made the robe slightly oversized to represent the "growing" he still had to do before becoming both a ruler and a wizard.

I love this. (Do I say that every time? I'm not very eloquent.) The raven thing really works wonderfully. I'd love to see your process... (Don't worry, I couldn't copy it if I tried.) ;)

I can't say anything that hasn't been said yet about this portrait. It's just awesome.

This is just... holy +blocked+.
This was more than I even hoped for, Relsh... This is true art.
The black robes are so vivid, smooth like a raven's claw, and beautiful... The cloth seems almost alive.
And the paleness of the face, it's clean features, gives the man an almost noble look, like that of a dark wizard having spennt many nights pondering "over many a curious and quaint tome of forgotten lore"...
It's perfect, relsh. This is art at it's perfection
