Here are a few replacements/improvements of the original portraits from NWN, SoU, HotU, and the updates. Pick and choose which ones you want to use, or use them all, by adding them to the override folder, or put them in the portraits folder if you don't want them to replace the default portraits. Some have very minute changes, but important nonetheless. Enjoy!
I got rid of my Valen portraits because of the complaints that it was off limits.
This has all the sizes of portrait which somehow didn't get put in the first file, and gets rid of the Valen which I guess is from an off limits portrait.
I got that picture from this website, though I assume they got it from that website since you are indeed correct, it is that character. Hmm. Perhaps I will remove it from this site (though I will still certainly use it for my own Valen)
I have to agree about the blonde its a striking improvement.
Not liking the valen picture, having investigated the artist's sites in general I don't think this recolor is protected under fair use (as a common practice artists consent is a really good idea to get but if you've experience with the law it comes down to you being a jerk or not) This site is rife with people posting and reposting portraits to the nature of mutated rabbits from mars.
Pittlers: if it becomes a big issue republish the pack with a giant clown nose on the portrait and floppy ears and you'll be fine under "parody".
The "Valen" pic is an original artwork called "Rebel" made by the American artist Adele Lorienne. On her website she's stated that her work are not allowed in any way, even if it's for a non-profit use. This is quoted from her FAQ page:
"Q. Can I use your art for my RPG site/character?
No, I don't allow my work to be used to portray another person's character unless it was specifically drawn for that person. My characters have names, personalities, stories, and are not random people to be taken and given alternate identities to suit another purpose. If you want a character portrait for your own personal use, please consider commissioning an artist to draw/paint one for you?
Q. Can I use your work for websets, signatures, personal site layouts, avatars, etc.?
The answer to this is also no. My illustration work is personal, each with specific characters and stories behind them. It is not free to use for stationary, tubes, tags, signatures, avatars, journal layouts, websets, backgrounds, banners, icons, pixel bases, or anything else that alters/crops/manipulates/modifies the image, whether profit or non-profit."
Now, I don't know if a permission was given for this specific piece of art, but since it's not stated or mentioned in the description, I take it this pic was used without her permission.

The blond Elf become astonishing beautiful by making her chubby cheeks thinner and adding a bit rouge. Her chin also looks much better. Sad NWN2 use other image sizes.
