This is excellent, like pretty much the rest of your work.

Awesome. In my oppinion, you and Phaere are the best portrait people on the vault.

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 88 that made this score of 8.40 then rounded to 8.

best Drow Portrait I've ever seen...You have surely read
R.A. Salvatores books :-)

I can actually comment on this one, as it was made for one
of my old pnp D&D characters, Alastor (as a matter of fact
ALL of Brad's images out here are based on one or the
other's D&D chars).

Alastor is a multi-classed fighter/magic-user/thief, and
due to the dedication and investment he takes to train all
of these skills, he is not necessarily good at any of them
(even worse in NWN with the lev 20 cap).

As a result, ... his attribute scores are not that high,
his highest being dexterity & intelligence.

His frail look can be attributed to the toll this type
of "jack-of-all" trades can take on you.

Enjoy,

Scott

The thing I like about Bard's work is that his pictures
don't claim to all be stuningly attractive (although most
of them manage this without even seeming to try). They have
a distinctive style that I personaly like and he seems to
aim for a darker subject matter than the average fantasy
artist (Elmore, Easley and the like) without sinking to the
arguably depraved tastes of some of the more punklike
fantasy artwork out there that often seems to involve too
many studs and vampires. Here he seems to be aiming more
for the feel of the character than an exotic and exiting
evil thing. I would agree that the face is
uncharacteristically long and thin for his work but that
only serves to demonstrate the point that this creature is
different.

I will grant you that it is well done, but it seems to me
as though he looks starved. None of the character models
have nearly as long or thin a face as this. I think
the 'evil' of the dark elven race is brought out in this
portrait, but the 'dark beauty and grace' seems a little
lacking. Dark Elves may be pure evil, but that doesn't
mean they look like demon-crazed half-starved grumpy men
who got their face too close to the spellbook. (when it
was suddenly closed on their heads)

This is not a "I hate these pictures" kind of comment, I am
just saying that while the colors and atmosphere 'click'
with my perception of dark elves, the features don't. If
you were to make a portrait with someone who looked more
like a normal elf, only dark, then I would most likely see
the whole light of your talents. Until then, keep pleasing
the less critical, for I know I am too much. After all,
you bring pictures that many appreciate, so I don't expect
you to stop, or change. I am just saying that I think
Amaltheya's Dark Elven woman seems to fit my idea a bit
more, and this portrait seems to remind me of Kain, the
vampire. (so does the newer one)

That's my (hopefully) constructive criticism, and I only
wish I had the artistic talent many of you portrait makers
have.

THIS DUDE ROX!!!!!!!!
Im gonna use it on my next character.you can see him at
the characters his name is Rahab cause i think he looks a
like the Rahab in SR

Excellent. He's oppressed by the female clerics of Lolth
and is no more than a slave in their eyes, but he seems
proud and defiant.

I'm going to find every portrait out there you post and
comlpiment on how good it is...... I loved that Evil
Knight/ Ceric type guy in the huge armor!

This one is good too....

You work is by far the most outstanding, original and
captivating out there. Keep up the god work.

Oh yeah... forgot about that. :p

Very nice Bradly...Does this mean my Drow Sorceress isn't
far behind? I know...I know... your work schedule and 1942
takin up your time...but it would be sweet to see her before
I visit in Nov. No pressure mind you :)

Keep up the good work Brad. Once again you give us a
masterpiece that isn't obviously a photo or too bright.
You're portraits blend in well with the Bioware ones
whereas most of the others just don't seem to fit. Alright
so you haven't embraced the Bioware style but for me,
that's an added bonus.

I also wanted to commend you on painting a male drow. It's
something that I have been meaning to get on to doing more
of myself. The ratio of Drow I have done has been stilted
of late in the females favour, and we need more male
images to balance it out.

Once again great Job!

Brad, incrediable as always - love your style and skill.

Very nice work -- too many drow portraits here have a
bright background, but yours uses a dark background and a
personable sneer to really highlight the appearance and
personality of this drow. Well done.

That is beautiful work Brad.

Excellent work! Personally I think is your best thus far!
Great painterly approach.
