A usable World Map that you can add to as your story progresses. It will give you a choice of destinations after you have looked at it. New destinations can added one after another and the choice to travel there will appear as well. It does all this without messing with the Death GUI or the Journal GUI.
Borden's Extendable World Maps.
To create your own maps you need to create an 837 X 526 pixel image. Then
rotate it 90 Degrees Clockwise and copy & paste it over the indicated part of
the tga file. You then save it & import it into the hak and overwrite the
existing one.
The Placeables.2da data is on line 301 to 312 if they clash with your 2da
entries just cut & paste them where you want them and re-number them
accordingly. If you do this you WILL have to change the appearance of each map
in the palette. They are in /special/custom1 and the appearance name is
World_Map_01 to World_Map_12.
If you create a basic world map for the first one and C & P it into the
map01.tga you can create copies of conversation lines 1 to 3 to increase the
number of starting travel options to suit it.
Then simply add a destination to the original map and C & P it into the
map02.tga. You can for 11 new destinations as your story unfolds. It is a bit
linear ATM but I've got my thinking hat on about more flexibility in a future
version.
ADDED LATER:-
I've just realised the script db_incr_map_no uses oPC = GetLastUsedBy(). This will need to be changed to oPC = GetPCSpeaker() if you are calling the script from a conversation.
Addresses Goudea's niggle about the floor showing.
Just add the pwl & pwk file to the maps.hak and overwrite the placeables.2da in it. Open the demo in the toolset import the erf and total blackness. The black rug could have other uses too.
Wyrmdyn (The PW I script for) uses Dragon riding as a method of travel for more advanced Characters. As to the mini tilesets. That's beyond my abilities I'm afraid. Try posting it in ideas. _________________________ Stuff I've done.

Borden Ha'elven : "Just add the pwl & pwk file to the maps.hak and overwrite the placeables.2da in it. Open the demo in the toolset import the erf and total blackness. The black rug could have other uses too."
I would be glad to do it, but I only see an erf file, but neither 2da nor model.
I am missing something ?
But, any way, I understand your idea, which is very.
Instead of bothering creating a tileset, for just having blackness.
Anyway, having this debate with you gave me an idea.
Why not creating a miniaturized tileset with basic terrains :
- Water (ocean)
- Grass coast
- Desert coast
- Icy coast
For used in important travels with boat or riding dragon like in my video.
It could also be funny to add some RTS phasis in NWN.
If I can find a bigger placeable to re-skin I'll use that on version 2. I'm delving into the darkest recesses of the vault for one. That should fill the screen when I do. I could re-skin a carpet to black to cover the floor meanwhile. Would that do? _________________________ Stuff I've done.

The trouble with a tileset approach is you would have to build atileset for every mod. Not everybody can do that. With this idea all you need to be able to do is standard graphics stuff. _________________________ Stuff I've done.

This is yet another excellent ingame map hak; with a little resizing, any maps can be used, and the interactive method of it is decent. Gets a full 10!
