This is demonstration of a Theatre Show using the ds-tl Theatre scripting system.
It uses some available prefabs and script from nwvault:
City of Londra by Chaos_Theocrat
Link Credit for the Royal Theatre goes to Jeff V / Negalith whose Karador Theatre formed the original basis for it.
the ds-tl v1.01 The DS Theatre Scripting Language by DSenset
Link
My own contribution was to assemble them into a working module.
I was intrigued by DSenset recent script system and wanted to try it out. The next thing I needed was a Theatre stage area to make the show. A quick search on nwvault revealed Chaos _Theocrat excellent city of Londra and his reference to the original theatre set from Karador.
Then of course I needed a dialogue to play. War and Peace was tempting but a bit ambitious and the first dialogue writing I found in the Fan Fiction was this by QSW.
Full credits to the individual authors above. I couldn't have made it without them.
Needs CEP2.2 haks
Version 1_2
Now includes The Giant Blue Underpants part 1 Act 2
added a few spells and animations.

The ability to have PC run plays alone, using the levers for player written and acted plays adds unlimited RP possibilities for bards or any wannabe performer... Just fantastic.. _________________________ -eyeballkid-

or maybe more than 0.01 (=1 cm), looks like 0.10. oh, the folk from the opera: they're far from perfect - it's much better spawning them right beneath a chair, then you have nearly no pathfinding - please don't use them (you would need the creature blueprints and waypoints at least). But I ran into some more mean issues with 2.01. Anyway, the rs1 (reference stage 1) the Five Flagons Inn in BG (CEP 2.2, CMP, dstl 2.01, 30 seats) will be in an EARLY preview in maybe 2-3 weeks - much later I plan to release it as "module" for the publicity of course. Still interested? Or may I convert this "Giant Blue Underpants" myself? But the stage is slightly smaller still. 3 houses do not fit in there. _________________________ Five Flagons Inn: Link - ds-tl Theater Scripting Language: Link - dstl NWN2: Link - NWN2 one-click GUI away (except chat-windows): Link - NWN1 small file extensions for SP (and General MIDI): Link - Suggested Naming Conventions: Link - DS Sneaking: Link - DS Base (Pseudo-)Maze: Link

I tried to use the area onenter script from your Opera but for some reason it locks up at 50% loading. Something to do with the commoners spawning.
The back stage rooms are for the DM to stage "manual" shows with players. ie. not using the script at all. Just change the environment with the levers and let the PCs do their own dialogue.
A roleplay server could have competitions, etc..
Raise the upper curtain by 0.01 ?? is this why they shimmer a bit on the edges? Will do.
Thanks for the ratings. Although I was not chasing the high score. Just like to share whatever I can do.

Well, sure 10 (part of this to the makers of the theater). Because you just pulled this off ermh ...professionally. For craftmanship and taste. And it's a fine ad for my works, so don't count it. It's not exactly a prefab, but - well what is it. I let you know when the CEP2.2 theater is in the beta (realistic, damp, down to earth, not so much lightshow I thought - ideas heavily stolen from here), I think Baldur's Gate'd be a fine place after the opera was in NW. I'd just throw some placeables out, if you want to stay in this facility and raise the upper curtains by 0.01, there's a small z-fighting-buffer-issue. And delete the rooms that are not in use. And: with the lighting, try right clicking on a tile in the area mode. There are individual light settings. The isolated vip chair looks a bit strange in the beginning, but when you sit, if fits perfectly, psychologically. Does NOT mean my old carpet-phobia worn off. _________________________ Five Flagons Inn: Link - ds-tl Theater Scripting Language: Link - dstl NWN2: Link - NWN2 one-click GUI away (except chat-windows): Link - NWN1 small file extensions for SP (and General MIDI): Link - Suggested Naming Conventions: Link - DS Sneaking: Link - DS Base (Pseudo-)Maze: Link

I would not make an erf for a couple of reasons:
The ds-tl scripts are already available as an erf from DSenset page. And from there you can always get the latest version.
The Theatre area is not mine either so just follow the link and get either the original from Jeff V / Negalith or Chaos_theocrat refit.
The play itself is so easy to make after following DSenset instructions that anybody can make one (no scripting needed)
Only need a bunch of waypoints and a custom book.
And I think DSenset is working on a system to let people submit their own play to the DM/admin of the module.
And last but not least.. just save my mod into the erf folder and rename it theatre.erf
You can then import the lot. Just do not overwrite any of the base module files.

This is great! any way to put it in .erf format? Though of course, i want to first ask for your permission to use this in my module/ PW of course (its not up yet, but maybe someday i might... or might not) either way i think its a great setup for a persistant theatre :]

Oh but wait until I do the full story (part 1, 2 and 3)
I had a hard time making the talking bow and now I am working on a proper lighting for the stage.
The fenhound animation was almost impossible to do right to fit the dialogue but .. this is nwn ... use your imagination. LOL
I am uploading version 1.2 now and it has the full part 1 of the story.

LOL! This was a lot of fun to watch. You've put together these amazing systems and produced a fun few minutes of theatre. I must say it was strange seeing my own story script in a module, so thank you for showing me how it worked out on stage! At one stage a friend actually made a pair of boots that were enormous, somehow altering the size of that item in a 2.da? or something. Your use of the sea hag was fun. The timing must have taken you ages to work out, you did a superb job.
Thanks for sharing this with us, I sure hope more authors make use of the systems you have put together to add this type of thing into their modules. Or they could just use this prefab :) _________________________ QSW -NWVault Reviewers Forum

oh.. yes it does need CEP2.2 like all Chaos_theocrat prefabs.
I just assumed that most people would have it. My mistake.
.. and then you do need the nice placeables to make the backstage.
I have almost finished the Act 2 of the story (with the talking bow) last night.
With some practice you can really make some short plays relatively easily. Thanks again for that great script.

Yah, War and Peace'd be a bit over the top, mayhaps. I got to free my HD and download Cep2.2 it seems? I have a missing custom talk TLK-table (and nothing in the logs...). Maybe you could add it in the description or even better: the module settings dialog and required files. The City of Londra keeps crashing on me when I import the ERF. I'll do the [SETNAME...] evaluation higher in the command cascade - there IS a use after all - but that's in the millisecond range, I doubt that's the kind of lag a carbonbased lifeform notices. I personally gathered a lot of plays here from Project Gutenberg (Ibsen, Shaw, Tschechow), ye good old drama is some 2000 years old, after all. 6 seconds rhythm is just fine for longer lines. But someday I plan a decent module in the far future, too. Can't hardly wait to see this, thanks a lot. _________________________ Five Flagons Inn: Link - ds-tl Theater Scripting Language: Link - dstl NWN2: Link - NWN2 one-click GUI away (except chat-windows): Link - NWN1 small file extensions for SP (and General MIDI): Link - Suggested Naming Conventions: Link - DS Sneaking: Link - DS Base (Pseudo-)Maze: Link
