Yes, Shargast I did not even think of testing it through F9, so I guess there is no client enter there, in that you never receive the database object you need. Of course if you already had that object it would still work through F9. Interesting point, good to see you back.
Thanks, guys. Mainly it's a tool for pw's so starting the server is implied, although it could be used in a DM'd campaign, or anything multiplayer.
In a single player module it would be pretty pointless unless you wanted to hire out a contract on yourself. Now there could be a scenario, in sp, where you hire a contract out on yourself to get at a particular npc. i.e. By killing the assassin that tried to kill you, you find a clue to the whereabouts of that npc.

Does what it says it'll do! Might be good to put a note in that the nod has to be started as a server and not with F9 from the toolset. Otherwise the database can't run and you'll get nowhere. Gonna incorporate this baby in my mod as soon as I get the horse x3_string issue sorted out.
Cheers

Well that would be easy. Say on a 5% chance in the on death of the Boss you drop the dime, the local int contract set to 1 onto the database object of the PC. Instantly they have a contract on them.
Just wondering how easy would it to be to set it up so that when a player kills a boss character, there is a pecent chance that some one hires one of these assasins to kill the player?
One way to use this even in a non pvp world is as a DM. You could put a contract out on an unruly player. Not directly chastising or banning the player, but allowing for the possibility they will be assassinated. The particular PC may find out and buy out the contract, in that case you cost them some money. Here you may want to add a conditional that if the person buying out the contract is the target, no alignment change toward good is given, but retain the lawful one, for instance. So it could be of use in a RolePlay setting too. Thanks for the comments.

A worthy addition to my Westgate module. Now PCs can hire those Night Masks. _________________________ The Best PW system is getting even better. PLATEMAIL Tech Preview
Thanks for the votes guy. Saduj is right on calling it Killer (lol).
Nice analysis Blasco. Yes certain tweaks, dependent on level, are possible. I considered that but I just have the lone gunman. Also the fortune teller, in my world, keeps track of your current quests, or she can tell you if you are cursed or not. It's also another device the player can use to determine if they have a contract out on them, or not.

Absolutely awesome Fireball!
I tested it out all by my lonesome by doing some quick, (easy to put back to the original) changes to the trigger script and taking out a contract on myself. lol
The assassin looks really good and I love what he says when he pops out at you.
Just toss these triggers out in certain areas and one could spend weeks running from assassins.
(Provided you survive each attack of course)
Think I might make a few copies of the assassin.... maybe a level 10, 20, 30 and 40 and have them spawn based on the level of the PC.
Oh... and the Fortune Teller is a great idea! Had a similar concept for an oracle in my own world where you could recieve advice based on certain variables set on my own database object, but haven't really set to work on that one yet.
My analysis of your Contract Hits:
Excellent work.
Clear, concise scripting.
Believable conversations.
Overall concept is ingenous in that it's something quite simple that can really add "spice" to a module, but is something that most of us just don't think of.
You really have a knack for thinking outside of the box Fireball.
I give it a "10"!
