This is a simple campsite I created which has the effect of allowing the character to rest in the wilderness (in norest areas) as long as they are carrying the provided Bedroll item. I created a custom campfire that calls a conversation allowing you to choose your options depending on whether or not you have the bedroll, if you do you can use it and gain an Empty Stuffsack in it's place. After you use the campfire and choose to set up camp, you will lose your bedroll but gain the stuffsack, and it will spawn a bedroll placeable at your feet. Read the included Readme for some info on how best to use this. When you use the Bedroll Placeable you get another conversation that allows you to sleep, or pack up. the details of the sleep are in the readme, and if you pack up you lose your stuffsack and gain a bedroll. it's a protective loop basically. Readme has a lot more info than I am permitted to put here. The large pic is dark, but that is how it will look when sleeping.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 1 that made this score of 10 then rounded to 10.

Yeah, actually, that post was the morning after this was put up, so I considered 0 downloads a possibility, it says 100 now, but having seen a comment regarding only the pictures but no downloads, I couldn't help but be offended a little. At least I took the effort to get some pics, cut them down to reasonable size, and explain why they are dark.
As it says in the description, The large pic is dark, but that's how it will look. It doesn't help that it's against a white background, but if you put up with viewing the large pic in this window, it's a lot easier to see.

Ummm, Shadow, It has been my experience that not evrything works like it should on this sight. Just because it sez no down loads, doesn't mean that is right. I DLed this and it still doesn't show any...

Ok, I played around with Jassper's Bedroll a little more
yesterday and discovered that I had been thinking of
something else, sorry to mislead people on that one.
However, I did notice Jassper's Item Activate script, and
while I'm still figuring it out, I agree with him that it's
a good standard.
The bedroll he provides has some very clean scripts, and
it's set up well, but while i allows you to sit, and choose
sleep, I found these choices had no actual effect other
than animations. I would recommend his if you wish to make
some simple adjustments to get the desired sleep effects,
but for actual sleep purposes, this and one other I saw
last night would be my recommendations. I forgot who did
the other one, but it had the same basic effects, such as
blind, sleep, and HP restoration.
One thing I forgot to mention in my previous post, I also
applied a Knockdown effect for those who are immune to
sleep, such as elves and lvl 20 monks to name a couple. I
did this to simulate meditation, or the elven trance known
as "Reverie". (forgot where I heard that, but I read once
that elves never sleep, they enter Reverie instead.)
If anyone has some good sleep related scripts that they
would like included, please feel free to email them and I
will consider it. If you want something included, please
instruct me how the script was intended to be used, because
I'm still learning and would hate to get it all wrong.
One such script that I would be interested in, is one that
allows the player to rememorize spells, but not gain HP.
Also, a question I'd like answered from the roleplaying
aspect, would anyone like me to add an 'administer first
aid' choice? It would make the PC sit on the bedroll, and
if he had a first aid kit, he would be able to recover
about twice as many hit points in the same amount of time
as the sleeping. Or perhaps it would remove poisons, I
could make an entirely different menu for it. (this would
take a LITTLE work to get right, as I said, I'm still
learning)

I notice there are no downloads, so obviously you haven't
downloaded it. Had you taken the 3 or 4 seconds that even
a 56k dial-up would take to download this, you would be
able to see in the readme why the screen is so dark. I
decided that since you are ASLEEP, your eyes are closed,
your senses are shut off, and thus you are BLIND. The
screen is dark because your eyes are closed while
sleeping. I didn't just apply a darkness effect, because
that would also blank out other peoples' view, so this
effectively allows you, the player, the abilit to kind of
know what's going on still, but also limit your senses just
as your character's have been.
I created this to inspire roleplaying, since the sleeping
character is effectively helpless for a little bit, they
would need their party to take shifts, this is part of
roleplaying. If your PC is asleep, you shouldn't be able
to see everything that is going on, so I made it harder.
All of the times can be changed or even removed at the
module author's whim.
As I learn a little more about scripting, and as the NWN
Script Generator gets more functionality, I will update
this so that it cancels the effects if you get hit, but
adds a small int, wis, and/or dex decrease due to
grogginess. These will also be changeable or removable,
again at the modder's whim. I also plan on making some
other changes to it, but since I don't know just what is
involved I'm not going to say what they are until I know
what they will require.
I realise that this is similar to many other items out
there, such as the Bedroll by Jassper. The difference
between his and mine, is that his requires either putting
his script in the module's user defined scripts, or merging
them with whatever is already in there. Mine are all on
the items themselves, which makes this very easy for
scripting newbs.
While Jassper's Bedroll only requires the script merge,
mine requires the module creator to place some campfires
where they want them. The difference in hassle really
falls to the modder, because while it might be quicker to
do Jassper's , mine gives the modder and any DMs a little
more control over their players just plopping down
anywhere. I haven't gotten to play around with Jassper's
much, but I do consider it a better system for getting your
rest because he knows what he's doing and gives the players
more options. I saw a simple script somewhere here on the
vault that allows the OnRest function to work, so I could
use that and provide a normal resting option too.
I understand that my campsite is a little primitive at the
moment, so I don't need people telling me that soandso's
way of doing it has so much more, but I do plan on
improving this as I gain knowledge, so bear with me. If you
want to see the campsite without a blindness effect, simply
delete the line, or change the time to 0, I already said in
the readme that it's easy enough for the modder to choose
the times, so just have fun with it.

Whoa! That's really cool! I like the way when you look at it
just right, you can see just about as much as you did when
you looked at it the first time, which is NOTHING. Cool
idea, but it's so dark I had to dig out my pair of night
vision goggles.
