After playing all the modules and noticing that many of them do not have a person to help your character get to the starting level of the module I created this one. This module will allow you to level a character to level 2 - 20.
The module will strip you of ALL clothing, equipment, and gold. It will give you a standard amount based on the level of your character and there is a WELL stocked store to outfit your character level 2 through 20. This makes it easy to quickly have a character the appropriate level to play any module.

I have tried for a long time to make a script that strips a character of everything and gives it some modified starting equipment but, since I am no expert scripter, I haven´t succeeded. Since it seems you have, would you be so kind as to share the secret?

To no name,
Roleplaying is not conducive to levels. I have played plenty of pen and paper, over the table sessions where my character was too low to join in, and we simply leveled him up to join in. You're talking of the sort of 'roleplaying' that games like Everquest, DAOC, and NWN Persistant Worlds are perpetuating. While this is all well and good, and I'm sure it's a lot of fun in it's own right, I personally don't want to have to wait a month or more to join my friends on adventures just because I have to spend that time leveling up. By then, they'll be on to something else and I'll have just wasted my time.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 5 that made this score of 6.20 then rounded to 6.

Excellent Mod Deva. Now I don't have to write my own. :)
I'd also just like to say that everyone should leave poor no name alone. He/she/it obviously hs no concept of what real roleplaying is if he/she/it thinks that gaining levels in a CRPG is roleplaying. I weep for you no name.

Teeeheehe! Nice Topic, guys who hate cheaters, guys who hate cheaters evenmore and guys who wanna kick the cheater's but whith their Non-cheater characters ^^, I'm with the last group, I won't Lie to ya, I've donne some several cheated characters (but never used them at any place except my own computer), the only reason why I do this, is to "trace" some sort of "developing tree", for my real character to have a way to evolve nearly perfect. (As my nickname I'm a huge fan of Dragons and I search for the perfect Dragon Transformation (polimorph), and this Mods REALLY helps in other so I won't comit mistakes when level up comes) That's why I'm with these mods.
Funny thing: don't know for sure how to explain but... cheaters aren't stronger them the non'cheated characters, non cheaters just can't be beaten that easy, might have something to do with cheaters unexperience, but the cheaters that I know aren't capable of good characters.

Mr. No Name should maybe think about the fact that you do not have to play against cheated chars if you don' want to. Ye can simply leave the game if ye meet them or ye could just stay outa da way.
If someone wants to cheat and gain lvls without working then that's their problem 'caus they won't experience the true charm of the game, and will miss out on a great deal of fun.
As it is I agree with Deva. For example: What's the point of playing a lvl20 module with a lvl1 char. That's not entertainment, that suicide!
This to be said even though I partially agree with you. It ruins the gaming experience to die with your hardworked char against someone who has cheated to become powerful.
But as I, and others have already said: There are many ways to avoid such a situation and so you don't need to care for those that cheat because they either need it for one good reason or another or are just too weak or impatient.

Hey dude without a name, have you ever actually thought about maybe thats the reason that people have server vault only servers? obviously not. and why do you care anyway? if youre so dead set against it...JUST GO TO A SERVER VAULT ONLY SERVER....easy solution, and by the way, if you havent already noticed i dont think YOU are going to make a 'difference' in the way people play this game, if people dont want to earn their lvls, thats fine and dandy, thats why there are mods out there like this, if its illegal then dont you think that bioware would ban it? Deva, great idea, thnx, i hate going into lvl 3 mods with a lvl 1 char and just having to walk around, especially if its a fav mod of mine.

I still say its cheating

Actually, Mr. no name since this is the first time I have been back here since I created this.
I was starting Against The Giants module and the level up guy to get the characters to the minimum level only did the first party member. The rest were stuck at 1st level in a 10th level module.
So, I designed this area so, I could have characters to test out modules people put out. I am not for cheating... though my kids liked using this to cheat. :)
I am much too busy to cheat. I spend most of my time scripting and testing, I certainly do not have TIME to ROLE PLAY and still get my projects done. If I am making a 10th level module... I need a 10th level character to test it with.
The only 20th level character I made with this was Cheater Sorcerer and I used it to fight Luna_C and H2orat's Lolth to see how it worked... needless to say... I died repeatedly.
That is actually the only 20th level character I have played.
I have gotten to around 10th level playing... but, I spend 98% of my time or more making stuff. Not playing. I've only played the 1st 10 minutes of the OC and a little further than that into Shadows of Undrentides campaign.
In fact, The Graveron Seduction is the module I have played the longest out of all.
So, before you jump to conclusions you might consider if people use things like this for other things besides cheating.
Do some people use it as such. Definately. :)

Guy with no name, are you saying that you would decide not
to play a mod simply because you had no character of an
appropriate level? That's just stupid. Deva: great idea.
Are you sure this shouldn't be in the "modules" section
though...

Can I just say something to mr No-Name? get a life!! and
some friends!!
Posted by Anonymous ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-12-01 17:15:00
Can anyone here say "roleplay"?
Obviously not!
Oh well, there will always be people who want a character
of "x" level without actually earning it. I'm sure those
folks will appreciate your CHEATING mod.
Ever consider actually DEVELOPING a character? And
Roleplaying him/her? You know, playing mods/campaigns for
low levels until you reach the level needed for
this "campaign" requiring a specific level range you
mentioned. Give your character a history...
Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

Great idea! it's always a real pain in the arse when you
wanna play a campain but dont have a character of the
apropriate lvl.
