Pixie Spears that become darts when the player leaves the tree, and an amulet as a reward if the tree is saved.
Description

This is a slot in mini quest designed for Druids and Rangers only. Approach the glowing tree within the mod, and a Fairy will appear and plea for help.
The basic plot is that the tree, home to the fairies, is dieing, due to a nest of insects under the roots. The insects have bored through the roots and the Fairies are only just holding them back. They can't squeeze through the hole to destroy the nest as they'd damage their wings, and so offer to shrink the player so that he/she can enter the tree and help them.
The top of the tree has been kept empty to do with as you please, but note you should ensure no takeable items are present except the custom fairy spears, as these are the only items shrunk on leaving the tree.
Encounters are respawnable and the quest has been built with multiple visits from different characters in mind, but this will require the insect nest to be made respawnable in order to be functional, and some way of ensuring there are always Fairies on the roots level to fight the insects. Sorry, this was beyond my skills, but I have placed some Pixies to get the feel across, so it should function as a single player add on with no problem.
In its current state the Druid/Ranger may not take a party with them.
A big thankyou to rdjparadis for helping me greatly with the spears shrinking if you leave the tree.
There's a couple of nice touches, including life size fairies to give the illusion of having been shrunk.
Hope you like this offering and put it to good use. Have fun, oh, and enjoy the Fairy admiration if you save the tree!
If someone wants to improve on it, be my guest, I just thought someone might appreciatte it, but note improvements are required if wanted for other than solo. Uses both HoU and SoU.

I used this prefab to make my first area years ago. By customizing it I learned how to use the toolset, and now help to run an rpg server that still has the modified version of this prefab. So thanks for opening up years of enjoyment with building. _________________________ Link

Don't know how to vote on a side-quest pre-fab. My 9th-level druid died a dozen times. All root-level fairies died from spit. Monsters spawned after I destroyed cocoon. Toolset is too limited to do properly. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.
I've had someone contact me informing me that this should be in the "Mods" section, and that I've placed it here in Prefabs in an attempt to earn a place in the Hall of Fame via an easier route. This certainly isn't the intention. I took "Prefabs" to mean anything that's intended to slot into a larger project, which is what this is. I certainly wouldn't have thought it qualifies as a mod, which I would take to mean a complete adventure.
If an official representative of this site can clarify I'll happily move it if it's considered as placed in an innappropriatte section.

Very well done quest. A new and interesting idea both story-wise and visually.
It's a good self-contained quest that can be inserted into a module either as is. It can also easily be expanded to allow for further quests or some over-arcing story.

A few spelling typos and such, but overall a well written and interesting quest.
Creative use of tilesets and creatures set the atmosphere very well. _________________________ I am willing to suspend my disbelief,
But not hang it by the neck until dead.
