Like many others out there, I've never ever liked the armour designs that the default NWN game uses, and I've always designed my armour, for PC or NPC, as the need arose. I thought it might be a good idea to have a base set of non-magical armour to use with each of my modules, so I created this prefab set.
These suits of armour suit my taste more, and I hope yours as well.

More of a time saver is always good...sheesh people...what is up lately with all the attacks? Even if I do not like something on here which is often, I do not slam the guy. It is time consuming to design every piece of some armour and maybe, just maybe this might have helped someone.
Good job, Mossy. _________________________ People react violently to fur rather than leather because it is easier to pick on rich chicks with bad taste than biker gangs.
I agree with your dislike of the pauldron. I normally don't use it with my armour, but did this time to come up with more than just a few sets.
My intent was not to create authentic period pieces, because I don't have that background or knowledge, but I'd be very interested in seeing a collection of them if you have them available.
These armors don't look as bad as the atrocious standard armor but they still have an element that makes them look NWN goofy. The part I speak of is the shoulder armor piece (the pauldron), the huge football shoulder pad like things, that often have Flinstonesque spikes in the standard armor. What I do is leave that space empty except when creating heavy plate, and then I only use the one model that looks decent.
If you look at real historic armor, the pauldron is NOT that large and is only common on heavy armor, absent on leather, chain and scale in most cases. Most people think they have to use the piece when building armor and clothes in NWN, but to get a more realistic and better looking armor, it should be left blank.
Another thing I do is create my mods using the new all armor pieces hak, which includes a lot of great hauberks, bicep (with great looking pauldrons attached) and even some decent breastplates from the Greek hack that look great for other cultural uses.
Anyway, good effort, it's great to see someone hates the standard Bioware crap as much as I do.

Just to clear up any confusion, this is a prefab, not a hak file. I'm not claiming to have created these suits from the ground up. I simply wanted to create a standard set of armour from the toolset that I could use in place of the default armour options.
One thing I forgot to mention is that since I'm an old school role player, the armour class values of these suits is somewhat different than the default NWN ones.
Scalemail is AC 6, while chainmail is AC 5, instead of the reverse which is true in default NWN. Also, I created platemail armour AC 8, and did not create half or full plate armour.
The components are from CEP, of course. Just as the components for the default armour are supplied with the default toolset. This prefab is simply a collection of more realistic armour created so that I can use them with each module I'm working on, so that I didn't have to create the armour each time.
There's no more plagerism here than there is using any other component from the toolset.
Maybe the textures are the same... Are the stats, and the configuration of armor textures identical to CEP as well? If not then I agree with Faloth. If not, then this is plagerism...plain and simple.
On first glance, however, I would assume it's the former rather than the latter.

I felt exactly the same. Your set of armors replicate a D&D society much better then any of the defaults. A job well done!
I'll be using them in my PW world known as "Kingdom of Asintine".
Thanks for your efforts :)
