1.  WHAT AND WHY  **************************************************************

This system grew out of a desire to prevent player killing in persistent worlds.
It is not meant to be a stand-alone dueling arena, of which there are plenty of
better ones around.  It's also not meant to discriminate between "in character"
assassinations and "out of character" l33t OMG kewl-d00d! player killing.  All
are punished alike under this system, if their victim lacks a dueling token.
Think of the system as a meta-gaming concession of less realism to those gamers
who don't like being killed or attacked.  The system also supports an official
Dueling Pit where players can participate in team-based dueling contests.




2.  HOW IT WORKS  **************************************************************

Players must become sanctioned Gladiators before they duel.  They can acquire
that status by using any Gladi-Maker (a placeable object).  You are encouraged
to drop at least one Gladi-Maker in any area where PvP is permitted.  Players
may also purchase a Gla-Detector which enables them to determine anyone's
Gladiator status.  If the victim of any duel is not a sanctioned Gladiator, the
player-killer is automatically punished thus:

    (1)  Jump the criminal to jail.
    (2)  Take 1/2 the criminal's GP.
    (3)  Take 1/20 the criminal's XP.
    (4)  Put all the criminal's items and the rest of her GP into a container.
    (5)  Send an alert message to all players.
    (6)  Send banning information to all DMs.

(Both the nature of the punishment and its automaticity are easily toggled and
manipulated within the scripts.  See section 4 for more details.)  The module
will continue to strip a criminal's XP, GP, and items if they try to log off and
on again, until they are forgiven.  Forgiveneess can occur in one of two ways.

First, an authorized Enforcer player can target a criminal with the Enforcer Key
item to forgive that player.  Second, the criminal can open a Confiscated
Items container, which is normally locked, to be forgiven.  Only players with
the Enforcer Key can unlock these containers.

Authorized Enforcers can also use the Enforcer Key to punish players as if that
player had killed a non-Gladiator.  Currently only DMs are authorized enforcers,
though it's possible to allow certain players to be authorized enforcers as
well.  The Enforcer Key will destroy itself if an unauthorized player acquires
or attempts to use it.

The base system outlined above has been expanded to include an official Dueling
Pit.  Within this Pit, dueling teams compete for points, where teams are
based on Gladiator color.  (Gladiator color makes no difference for ordinary
duels; it matters only for Dueling Pit contests.)  Dueling contestants
garner points for their team by killing opponents of other team(s), based on the
following formula:

    Points/kill = 20, +1 per victim level, -1 per killer level

Teams are deducted 20 points if any team member kills a teammate.  The contest
ends when one team achieves a pre-determined number of points.  There are
currently three team colors: red, blue, and green.  No more than six players
may participate in a dueling contest at any one time.

All dueling arena contests are handled and organized by the Pit Master NPC.
Score and team listings can be accessed via the Scoredial placeable.

DMs have the power to reset all the local variables and restart the Dueling Pit.
They should do this if the Pit starts to go buggy, or some players are hogging
the Pit, not allowing others to participate.  DMs access this power by talking
to the Pit Master.

Description

This PK Deterrence & Dueling Arena system is meant to be an add-on to persistent worlds to allow dueling but punish non-consensual player-killing. The punishment for non-consensual player-killing is easily customizable within the scripts, and the automated punishment can be toggled on or off. Authorized enforcers, such as DMs or specially selected players, receive a special item that lets them inflict the same punishment to everyone but exempt players. The dueling arena supports three teams of up to six contestants who can duel in contests with score. There are two areas (the arena and the jail), but they can be modified or replaced or even omitted. An extensive readme file is included with detailed instructions, the script named 'da_readmefile'. The entire file is 441KB, 84KB zipped (as it is here). Updates: v1.01 (9 December 2002) - Fixed bug where system doesn't recognize players logging off the module from within the Dueling Pit.

I have seen this scrit in action on a PW I DM on and I loved it so when I decided to make my own PW I downloaded it and installed.
I am having one problem though, everything works fine except the Enforcer Key. When I use it the conversation wont pop up, I followed directions to the T so im really lost.

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 14 that made this score of 9.50 then rounded to 10.

Well tested this script works beautiful and on hou at that now how to add a npc jailer hmmmm
