This package adds 26 new Visual Effect Placeables to NWN so module builders have access to a wider array of ambient visual effects (like webbed areas). They all share the same script so only two new scripts are added to your module when importing. All effects are visual (and some sound) only, no damage or any other effects are attached. Content: 2 Scripts 26 Placeables.

Hi,
I used this system in my Elemental Plane of Fire and it really works wonders. Easy to use to.
I didn't realise you did other stuff until I did a search Dom....wow...I gotta go look at your other stuff. Well done. Nice to see stuff like this that can inspire builders onto greater things :) _________________________ View my blog regarding the Relbonian Chronicles project --> Link

i was lead to this package after playing a new module at the vault that uses it. great effects! i know this will find its way into my next project.
I found the correct download at gulbsoft.de/request?2. The file name should be vfx.zip. When downloading beware of a plus-minus download that appear everytime you enter site pages. I hope this helps others looking to try this.

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 27 that made this score of 9.40 then rounded to 9.

Dom;
This is awesome. Looks great, adds atmosphere. Easy and simple to use. I love it. Great job. I voted a 10 (might be the first time I've done that!)

Simple and elegant.
I have been using creature versions for some time and didn't even think of using these on placeables until I saw this. The best are the "smaller" effects which become static when used in this way achieving the "overgrown" effect with the single tangelvine and a great web effect with the single web. The larger area effects are most useful for simulating spells rather than mood. Once you have these scripts you should be able to try out other visual effects by simply changing the VFX_ part in the script. I havent testing actual spell effects yet (as opposed to the VFX)- but switching with those should theoreticly give the actual spell not just the visual (i.e. a fire wall that actually damages)
As a side note these seem to work best with default placeables- If you are using these for the first time and have one of those nifty placeables hakpaks you should do your testing etc on Bioware Default placeables first-- Some of these do not show up on many of haked placeables-- especially the larger ones. This is a problem with the haked placeables not these scripts.

You could place the same effects with a scrip I posted here some time ago. Err... 'Creating creatures looking like spell effekts'? Anyway, much easier for people to add into their modules. I'll be using it myself

Hmm why did I enter "Lost dragon" at the name field...
really should grab some sleep:)
Before Displacer or Doppelgaenger ideas pop up, the post below is from "Dom Queron" to "Lost Dragon" :)

Just checked yours, its really an impressive piece of work you did there.
I guess mine is more for the lazy builder who just want to drop a few effects right out the toolset, while yours is certainly the way to go for the power user and scripter.
As for using the hb, it should not matter, coding wise, as it gets run only once.
Keep up that work and please drop me a line if you release that easyFx4 package, I'd like to link it from my package page
regards
georg

Thanks.
An U7Si Mod, that sounds like lot of work to me. This game was one of the longest I ever played (apart from BG2+ToB), I guess I needed about a year to finish it.
Do you have a website?

I just imported it and I must say that I'm very impressed with those effects. Very nice work dom, these things will sure get a place in the Serpent Isle Mod I'm working on.
I wish more people would create such easy to use addons for us builders.
