This book allows you to Teleport or Gate to any previously marked area(s). Also it lets you recall to your party leader. Alas: Ruin Book.
Function: A: Uses NWN varable storage on item(s). So marked areas will remain during server resets. B: Resources - default setting is not to use. See script 'xs_gate_inc_001'. A: You can set it to used XP or Gold or you can make your own resource. B: You can also set if the map get explored upon gating/recalling to. C: Now you can have seperate books on same PC, including buying and selling pre marked books. D: Can exclude areas for none use.
Install instruction are included in the package.
This version drops database use and stores on object now. Fixed any bugs in previous versions (this was a total rewrite)

I use this constantly in my Mod. No troubles at all, though I do make some changes to suit my needs.... Great system even works with CEP2 and all newest updates.... _________________________ Today is born the seventh one
Born of woman the seventh son
And he in turn of a seventh son
He has the power to heal
He has the gift of the second sight
He is the chosen one
So it shall be written
So it shall be done
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 12 that made this score of 9.00 then rounded to 9.

This does NOT save marked areas after server reset like it is billed. Good system, but doesnt work like the author says it should. After a server reset, the book will display the places you have marked previously, but it will NOT teleport you to them.

ERF format is for SoU & HoTU installed (since that is what I run)
However I included some instructions for people who can not import the ERF to do it manually. So it may be possable for anyone to use (version 1.59+)

Ok new script posted... If there are no problems with this script, this should be the last update. Any previous version with marked location will be lost. (Swapped from database to item storage)
You didnt actually UPDATE the script, would have been faster to just do so, that say that u have, and then not.
bad form!!! you HAVE to update!!! plz? purty plz? heh

I did some major changes to this script. If there is still intrest, I'll update it.
I changed the way areas are stored. The new object save upgrade from NWN (1.59+)
Reorginized and rewrote from scratch.
Easly can add the use of resources.
No more limitations.
No more mysterious loss of locations.
No more database.
and the list goes on!

I completed this over a year ago. Looked around to see if one has been released yet. So I decided to detach it from my module and release it. I may release other intresting stuff in the future.

Damn, I *JUST* wrote pretty much the same thing (without party recall). Too bad, one of us could've saved the effort :-)

Your welcome :)
Parts of it can be reused, like the database indclude and the create item wrapper.

I just implemented the ruin book into a mod that I am currently working on and so far with a very positive result indeed.
This book is very impressive and I thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to use it.

Sounds really cool, a couple of quick questions.
Can you charge for using it, like money or crystals or something, how hard would it be to change?
That should be real easy... Just add a items check and consume in xs_dlg_token_r01 script (return true always now!)
How do you go about marking and trying to telport to them later?
The book allows marking and recall or teleport to previous areas.
How many places can be marked?
8 now, but can easly expanded to 16,24,32 or whatever. just dupe the code and add pages to book.
Needing to find a 3rd type of teleportation for my module and this could be it, thanks!
No problem... I had built that book about a year ago but just to lazy to detatch it from my module to release it. Hope you have fun...
Maddox BTW I changed the verbage as you sugested. :)

By ruin book you mean Runebook? As in Ultima Online? Or Ruin Book, as in a book about or for Ruin? Because you may consider renaming it teleport book...it would simplify the whole thing for you.
