Find the script: area_despawner Place it on the onexit script field for your area. It will despawn all dropped items (except plot) and all encounter generated creatures after 30 seconds. I have used this script on Adventure Island for 2 years and it works flawlessly. The code is very efficient and takes into account if a player enters the area while the 30 second ticker is still going. This script is a life saved for a persistent world. Silverti Quicksilver Adventure Island IGN Vault Hall of Fame PW Story All I ask is that you use this script, please drop an IGN rating on it.
Just for the record AI has changed hands several times since this script has been used. Currently however it has undergone massive updates and rewrites, and most of the older poorly written stuff has been removed, and new and exciting things have been added/changed. So stop back in and say hello on your favorite island, Adventure Island.

People might actually vote if they new it was his work. But since 99.9% of adventure islands coding is downloaded from the vault a vote for a script that was taken from someone else and then (re)submitted is laughable at best.

Is a simple, flawless, easy to use script and is exactly what I need. Thanks for submitting it. _________________________ Check out the Level Up Colosseum

The problem with Silverti is he needs that pat on the back for his ego. You can see in the link from LoneRiver that he is buying votes with XP rewards. And in the same post he complained because anything less than 10 was no good.
Quote: "while 9 is a fair ranking, it hammers us in the rankings."
9 is only a fair ranking? Silverti do yourself a favor... get some help.

Hang on I'm confused.
'Most builders dont mind handing out code, I do it on the forums routinely'
'So, do I even need to explain now why people dont post code. This was my test, you wont see any more from me'
'Thank God that I have not had to deal with to many people like you in the mod'
That's funy, I think I've heard you use that line at least a dozen times. I could start posting links to them all if you'd like.
'If people are going to engage in open flame wars because I ask for a vote if the code is used, then I wont post code.'
'So, do I even need to explain now why people dont post code. This was my test, you wont see any more from me :) thank some of the people below.'
I propose that indeed, it was you who started the flaming.
I'm done with this conversation. It's too bad you can't delete it like you do forums on adv-island you don't like.
2 clear examples of some "players" in the community that builders have to deal with every day. Thank God that I have not had to deal with to many people like you in the mod (who are in general mature).
There is something you 2 fail to understand. Most builders dont mind handing out code, I do it on the forums routinely, all we ask is that we are credited for the work if its used, it is really that simple.
If people are going to engage in open flame wars because I ask for a vote if the code is used, then I wont post code.
So please.. continue on with the flames for my simple request to receive credit for code work.

Oh shut it Silverti. Are you like this in person too? God you are such a donkey (does that bypass the filters? :)). Your comments are always so caustic. You can build your module and let people play and ban other donkeyholes and do what you want, and STILL be nice to people! You can even not post anymore content because not enough people voted... without being a donkey! You might even feel better about yourself when you go to bed at night. That's my take on things anyways. It's not that you aren't valuable - you are. You are just a donkeyhole. Not that you're gonna change, but it's nice to get this stuff out in the open sometimes. You're a donkeyhole. There I said it :)

There is nothing really in it for me except to make my competition better.
I didn't realize that this was all some big +blocked+ competition. I thought this was a community of people just having fun. telling a story.. letting people in on thier idas of worlds.. enjoying a game.. .. heh.. whoa.. you do of course of realize that a person plays on a server because the PEOPLE are nice and the mood is relaxed from other members.. not if your stuff respawns smoothly..

My mother always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, then say nothing at all. There is no excuse for bad manners. You boys need to grow up! Oh, nice script.

Very basic stuff, one of heaps out there and not as good IMO.

This one works as advertised. Maybe it isn't groundbreaking but it does an important job and it does it well.
If you like another script better post a link, don't just say "there are better ones".
No heartbeats, solid quality, easy to read, and meaningful comments.
Worst case it's a good starting point if you need something a little different.

Post your address and we'll send you a medal :P
This is a community for all people to add or use what is here else it would not be here in the first place.
Your code is so so and not exactly ground breaking stuff anyway!

Excellent script, easy to add to your mod. I have also played on Adventure Island for over a year now and this script has never encountered a flaw that I can ever recall. I would recommend this to anyone who is creating a mod that they want to keep free of clutter... think about it, all that less items and encounters everywhere must free up alot of resources.

Yes massa'
Voted as ordered massa...
Geez dude calm down, If it's worth voting for people will vote for it if you ask to include a vote. Getting all excited about howmany votes you got per download is just going to get you some ugly votes.
Personally if something I post gets 1 vote per 75 downloads I consider it a success.
Nobody is stealing your credit man. Besides this is not where they should give credit, it should go in their module or server description.
This is not the place to get one's Ego stroked, if that is what you are looking for you either need to hire some lackey's or get a councillor.
Cheers!

Kinda boring if you ask me. The code is soemwhat bloated, as said before there are better scripts out there from less demanding authors.
The system itself is nothing more than average IMHO.

The approval of our peers is the most powerful force in the universe. Thanks a bunch, it works great.

Excellent clean code - problem free just drop it in.
"thanks for the posting but why so long. you said youve used this for 2 years.. Hmm i guess you wanted to make sure it worked lol "
Well, for one reason. There is nothing really in it for me except to make my competition better. But that does not bother me much. What bothers me is that right now 89 people downloaded it and I only have 1 review! I have a lot more bits of code I could put up but there is no reason to if people cant even give you credit for the code! It only takes like 30 seconds to review code on the IGN forums! Im all about helping the community but thats a give and take and I have noticed that is usually take. I personally have rated a 10 on ever script I have used in AI.

In AI, most epic critters are also on encounters. When this script destroys the critter, the critter does not leave loot at all (destroying the object does not cause it to drop loot). In effect, it also stops people from zoning in and out of an area repeatedly to kill a critter that they should not be able to stand up to (unless it follows them of course). _________________________ Creater / Designer / Host

giantkin. If you run in and spawn a bunch of monsters by hitting triggers, you will have to cover a lot of ground, and spawn a bunch of monsters. So, the monsters you spawn will be chasing you around. Also the timing on the triggers, as in AI, can be set to a short reset. The kind of thing you are describing just is not possible, at least in AI.

I've been needing to make one of these for a while, this just save me the work. Looked over it and it looks fine, thx dude.
I assume it only fires when the last player exits an area. Nice package. I'll have to give it a spin.---Aidonor
