A solid subrace script for giving all kinds of racial bonuses/penalties/abilities but without the more confusing/laborous aspects of more advanced scripts.
No ECL - you don't have to modify how exp is handled
No Indoor/Outdoor distinguishing - you dont have to put scripts on EVERY door/area transition
All you have to know is how to uncomment scripts (remove'//')
Includes support for Subraced-based appearance change, example: Subrace Pixie.
v9:
-bugfixes
-did away with nodrop coding in favor of biowares nodrop
-identifies subrace items with less scripting
-included a subrace assigning npc 'giver.erf' for example.
OK, so if you are going to change/improve the script should I just wait? no big deal if I do.
Just so you know I have all expansions and ver 1.67 updated. OH I am also using the CEP for ver 1.67 in my MOD.

If you can email it to me I will take a look at it (ringthief[nospam]gmail[nospam]com). I will hopefully be changing this whole subrace script to be completely and totally different pretty soon though. had a revolutionary idea for it last week.
I started to play around with the script and it is fairly easy to modify.
Your directions were pretty good too. Only thing I need to ask about is the subrace specific items. I made a subrace and an item but when I tell the debugging brat to kill me and resurect, I get another, and another , and another. Each time I am brought back I get another of the items. For the drow you supply I get another, but one is taken form me so I NEVER have more than ONE item.
How do I do this for each subrace specific item? You mention something about a script called subraces_items but in the supplied MOD I could not find it.
I did not pick apart the ERF file yet, unless it is in there.
I was hoping to perfect my subraces in your mod first then export and import to the mod I already started. PLEASE HELP, this is the only issue I have so far...

btw, you can contact me through my profile and I will help you out if you can be less rude and not project responsibility for your feelings. Always glad to help anyone out from here as long as they aren't copping an attitude.

It has worked for plenty of people who got it from here. You are probably just doing something wrong and are actually somewhere below "dummy" status. If you would have provided me with any useful feedback whatsoever I could probably show you where you are completely screwing up, but no, you seemed to only be interested in proclaiming "I can't get simple things to work! DUR!!!!" and then leaving.

For god's sake people, if there is a problem with my script please tell me instead of just making a new "version" of it and posting it here on the vault.
I appreciate the flattering way it was done, but it's like modifying default bioware scripts. they get out of sync when I update and you don't. not to mention it's just confusing to some ppl, and messes with the votes.

there, I updated the readme to be a little more specific for you.
Posted by Anonymous ( 69.214.xxx.xxx ) at 2005-03-19 15:50:00
the erf is actually the only ERF in the zip so it shouldnt be hard to find.
the filename is "sub4dumv9.erf"
the 3 bics with character names are the 3 sample characters the readme refers to.

... And what is a .bic file supposed to do? lol

I pride myself on being very resourceful and being able to learn just about anything as long as I know exactly what I am supposed to be learning. Therefore your script serves two purposes.
1) It teaches me how to script better
2) It lets me make my own subraces (wow! lol)
... Or at least that's how it would be, were I actually able to find the ERF file I am supposed to be importing! Isn't the readme supposed to cover this kind of stuff?
i cant seem to get your script to work not even in your mod and i have followed your directions to a to and saddly nothing could you tell me possibly what i am doing wrong i am banging my head against the pc right now LOL

Installed very easily. However, have a bug that concerns me. When someone casts remove disease from one of the characters, it removes the decreased skill abilities. Is there a fix for this?

I had the same problem with the stats not being reapplied when a PC respawns, just put the following in the "OnPlayerRespawn" event of your mod:
//at the very top before everything else
#include "subrace_include"
//at the very bottom
{
ExecuteScript ("subrace_clienter", OBJECT_SELF);
}

Damn! I swear I downloaded this and edited it to work with expansions the day before it got updated!
Hm... now give me this for patch 1.28 and the half-orc need I mention with my "Sneak Preview Grunt the Vegetarian" ???????
Ok, I am a dummie, but without HotU & SoU "On one truth in life I hold a bet - to be like Hitler you must be dead!" _________________________ "As the edge of midnight falls, the warrior stands alone. Visions of the fighting past - a thousand tales untold."
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 10 that made this score of 9.10 then rounded to 9.

Awesome script. Far easier to implement than CRR. One question, thoug: Does anyone know how to tweak things to fit with HCR? I am using the latest subrace script + the lateset HCR and HCR seems to break when a character starts to bleed after hitting 0 HP... They just lie there; don't get better, nor do they get worse...

i think there must be doing something wrong grimrider, or can you duplicate the problem with the sample mod where it's already set up?
Posted by Grimrider ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2004-02-01 02:06:00
Has this version fixed the problem with stacking ability bonuses/penalties? I know v7 was supposed to, but I kept having the same problems. That, and Spell-like Ability items keep being assigned to the wrong players.
Posted by Victor ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2004-01-29 11:38:00
I don't know if this is fixed in v8 = If you place your subrace item into a container, and place the container into a chest, it gives you back 2 subrace items. Same for nodrop items.
You already had a pretty good system, but now it's just that much better with the crazy amount of appearances you can choose from.
Nice to see this script got an update, it is by far one of the easiest to use subrace systems. _________________________ PW Action Server:
