This system allows for PCs to chop wood from trees, move it where they want, and light a fire with it. They can feed the fire when it begins to die, if they have more firewood. It also allows for torching any other object the builder specifies as flammable. Any area can be made to not allow any fires at all to be built.

I will take a look at making a fire with wood that is in your inventory impossible. (I guess it should be, anyhow?)
Adding a rest script to the campfire is something I figured anyone already using such a system could integrate, but an easy way would be to open the conversation used for feeding the fire, and add a node asking if the PC wants to rest. If they do, trigger a resting script.
Interesting idea for wood gathering. That seems like something that a builder could easily add to this fire system.

Two things came to my mind as i tested your script.
First: Player loses a chunk of wood if he uses the flint and steel on it while it is on the inventory. :(
Second: I would appreciate if you would add option to rest using the fireplace. Great for PWs that have certain resting limitations.
One thing, that could be added to script IMO, is alternative way of wood gathering. It would be based on (INT+WIS+(rangers and druids get +2(?))) against 10(?) one time skill check. The amount of tries/rest would be limited.
