Trade Note System Update: 04-25-06
Corrected conversations. They were stating they only sold up to 25k in trade
note values. All conversations match the amounts the NPC banker actually
sells.
Trade Note System Update: 12-05-05
Trade Note System: This system does not use any variables or databases to run. Intented as a easy alternate to a variable or datadase driven banking system for builders.
Players can buy and sell trade notes for a predefined amount. This works well with gold encumberance systems.
To setup, install the erf and place 1 of the 5 prefab merchant bankers. You may also choose to use a different npc. Simply place 1 of the conversation files on the npc and you are done.
04-25-06
-Corrected conversations. They were stating they only sold up to 25k in trade note values. All conversations match the amounts the NPC banker actually
sells.
12-05-05
-Made all trade notes have a value of 1gp to normal vendors.
-5 new bankers for easy setup, named for the size of area they might be in.
-Adjusted the conversation files to reflect banker they might be placed on denoting what trade notes they buy and sell.
09-23-05
-Added a second check to the conversation file to help prevent duping. Special thanks to Fester Pot from the NWN community for their assistance. Trade Notes are droppable again.
09-23-05
-Made all trade notes undroppable to fix a exploit.
09-21-05
-This update addressed a issue where the conversation file speaker tags where preset to the banker npc. They will work on any NPC now with no modification. Sorry I missed it before)
-All custom items, npcs and anything not directly related to the system was removed.
-Cleaned up the readme (mbanker.txt) file.
08-15-05
-Added five new conversation files that can support a roleplay stance on what trade notes are avaiable and where. They are named upto_ for easy implimentation. None of the original scripts and items have been changed. When you install this .erf simply overwrite the existing resources.
07-29-05
-I noticed that the 5k script was not working as intented. I wrote this stuff at 4am in the morning. I corrected the descriptions listed on the trade notes. Removed the 2 door scripts that were not my making. I still use them faithfully in my PW.

Thanks to everyone who helped point out some problems I had with my little system. If you find anything else, please feel free to post and I will attempt to fix it.
Special thanks to Fester Pot for helping in the NWN Scripting forums on the duping issue. _________________________ The Dirty Dwarf
I am an expert scripter and thought I would check your system out just to see if it had the imfamous gold duping bug and oh yes...it does indeed, I would love to know what servers use this system, no offense but I dont know how this system got rated 10/10 by people when anyone with half a brain could exploit this for free unlimited gold, do this....
Speak to the 5mil merchant, buy a bank note, speak again and select "I would like to trade in a note", then when says
"1: 5mil"
"2: I dont want to turn any notes in at this time"
drop the bank note on the ground
then select 5mil, low and behold u get 5 mil, just pick the bank note up and repeat. I feel sorry for the people who have had this sytem in their mods tut tut.
I am sure ithis system works just fine, although I have no use for it, my personal banking system is nwnx/aps compatible and stores all items and gold persistently with only 15 scripts but unless people want to set up nwnx/aps (not really for beginners)they will have to use the NASTY bioware database :p.....not good. _________________________ §çà®Fãçë

Also, the reason for the 40 scripts. Each unique item requires 4 scripts to run the process. Since I am doing a buy and sell option. 2 scripts for buying a trade note and 2 scripts for selling.
The conversation tree is setup to sell from highest to lowest and streamlined for speed conversion. Trade notes go from 1k to 5mil.
Instead of the ATM banking which really doesn't fit into my module. I came up with this idea. I entend to use the encomburance sub-system for gold on my server. So I wanted a option that players could convert their gold to notes worth a predefined amount of gold.
Try it out, it is fast and easy and requires basically no setup. Just import the erf and place the conversation file on any npc that the players can access and your done. _________________________ The Dirty Dwarf

I would be interested in learning how to do that. This is what I could accomplish with my level of scripting. I even poked around the scripting forum and a few of the scripting guilds. The best they came up with lowering the amount down to about 21 scripts. However it took some setting up on the builders side.
The banking system is not entended for the advanced scripter who most likely has created their own system. _________________________ The Dirty Dwarf
40 scripts for a gold banking system!!! Just a suggestion, you could reduce the ammount of scripts to about 5 if you use listening patterns and instead of selling/buying bank notes, just have each player possess a bank token (undroppable) and set local ints on that for the gold to be stored (since local variables are persistent if always on the player). _________________________ §çà®Fãçë

Updated the system. Found that the speaker tag was set on all the conversation files to the guard and banker. Sorry about that. Also removed the opening greetings sound so it will defualt to whatever sound set for the NPC you use.
Removed all custom items and npcs other then the 10 that are required to run the system.
The area tag is mbank_main. This is a closed in area with 6 basic module npcs to test the scripts out with the 10 trade notes placed in front of them.
Sorry about the bugs, as far as I know everything is 100% now. _________________________ The Dirty Dwarf

Comments welcome. When I put this together I just needed something simple and fast. I am open to any suggestions to improve the scripts. The scripts were all made with Lilac. Except for the two door scripts which I found here. _________________________ The Dirty Dwarf
