Seagulls that poke around on the beach, then fly away* when you scare them, and travel in a flock. (*) Complete with sound effects!
This builds on Michael England's nwscript implementation of Craig Reynold's Boids routine. With a little cheating...!
Import the Erf, paint down one leader seagull, and a bunch of normal gull followers. And that's it.
These are walking gulls that random walk around, sticking in a group. On perception of a non-seagull, they take off in flight and flee, eventually getting back together into a flock. And soon they land again.
There's a couple problems. First, they can get stuck with pathfinding issues. There's a flocking routine for members getting 'stuck,' but it's not foolproof. Secondly, there can be times when they stop moving and just hover. (Which I find annoying.)
Oh... and no, they're not killer Hitchcockian seagulls, either. ;)
Import the Erf into your module. Paint down ONE Seagull1 (the leader), and a flock of Seagulls (from the custom animals/birds palette). Then go chase them!
anyone else having problems downloading this? I keep getting a file not found error.

I went ahead and skinned the foul beasts! The hak pak should be out soon but its just a reskin and as they are seagulls they do have webbed feet still...lol
I tried to alter the uti files for them but apparently they dont take effect yet, Ill have to figure that one out.
A flock of crows?..lol
It would be cool to have bread crumbs that the seagulls like to go to when pcs arnt near.

Well if skinning models for NWN is as easy as skinning in UnrealTourniment or GMax that wouldnt be hard to do (I used to make custom skins for UT :D), personally Im not found of useing hakpaks though. Ill see if I can export the model and play around with it just for fun...Iv never tried exporting out of NWN yet.
what crows? and i didnt do demon cards, that's adam miller. (i just organized some of his stuff.) :)

I was wondering how many days it would take befor someone did this. I really thought it would be that guy that did the "crows" but no..its that guy that did the DEMON CARDS!
Nice little script, would be nice to have at a picnick :D
It was nice that Bioware actually made a flying model that had a walking model to go with it...to bad we didnt get the stationary crows to go with that.
Great job, keep up the good work and go play some demon cards!
