Well, after using the Bioware standard system and then shopping around a bit we decided we needed one to better suit our specific needs. So we have added our own system.
Specifications:
The system is designed to promote teamwork (aka Parties) and to better reflect your actual experiences in combat. The system utilizes a new formula that is modified from the PnP base. (thanks to Cayle for working it out with us)
The single PC receives a base award now. It will say "Combat XP Award:" then the amount of experience gained.
How other creatures affect your Combat XP Awards:
Parties - If you are in a party you will receive a Teamwork Bonus for working together. It is listed as a separate award "Teamwork XP Bonus:" under the combat XP.
Party Location - If you are not in the same area as the killer of the creature you will not receive an XP award.
Henchmen - The use of henchmen is a "crutch" and detracts from your experience as you adventure. You will receive less XP while using a henchman. Even if partied with a group of PCs.
Summoned, Companions, and Familiars - These creatures are part of who you are as a PC and do not cause a penalty.
Summoned Enemies - Creatures summoned by enemies do not generate XP awards. As per D&D rules, the Master of the summoned creature has already had their CR adjusted to take this into account.
The system also checks the party for level disparity. If you are outside the average range of the party's average level then you will be held in disparity and receive a penalty to your XP award and not receive a Teamwork Bonus. This is in place to discourage high-level PCs escorting low-level PCs around so they get more XP for their kills then normal.
And as we always prefer ... defeat of any monster will always generate at least 1 XP award and if partied at least 1 Teamwork XP Bonus.
To see how the system works I've built an online form to use the formulas. Click Here. The system is limited to 40 CR and 25 HD and will not except non-integer numbers.

Grottle the Grippli hammers some Demon Skull Orcs and receives his Combat XP Award. Had he worked with a Party he would have received a similar award (if the members were near each other in level) he would have received a Teamwork XP Award.

I really like this script, and the best thing about it is how simple it was to include with my Mod. I have run into one detail that a few of my players have posted. If you are in party for OOC chat, and these PCs are in different areas, then the script computes the average HD of all PCs in the party, not just the PCs in the same area. So if 2 level 5 PCs kill a monster in one area they get no Team Work XP if they are partied with a Level 20 buddy in another area of the Mod. _________________________ BD - The Dragon's Den Server (Now in Pre-Beta) Link

JUST the thing I need! Had a session this past week-end that didn't end on a good note, because we have a player who runs ahead and doesn't stay with the party! The group discussed with me a way to do something about it...and THIS IS THE PROGRAM!
Thanks, wonderful job!

Tellenger,
The difference accounts for experiences outside the PC's range. If you go back to PnP XP tables the CR range where PCs receive rewards dwindles quickly after 5 levels in either direction. I agree with this concept so included it in the formula.
Basically, monsters above a certain point are just too powerful for the PC to defeat unaided. Since this system doesn't include the party level directly in the calculation, this adjustment takes this into account.
Example: PC A is level 3 and PC B is level 15. Together they come across a Frost Giant, which is CR 12, and defeat him. PC A really didn't do much to defeat the creature. He was present and learned a little (mainly how to stay out of the way) and is rewarded with little experience. PC B is rewarded more (in relation to their level) because they did most of the work and understood who they were fighting.
The reverse is true as well.
Example: Same PCs as last example fight a kobold, CR 2 (tough shaman). They defeat it easily. PC A realizes they can fight this monster handily and earns something appropriate. PC B has fought so many creatures that they learned nothing new.
I hope that explains the reason for the calculation.
This looks great! Any update on the NWN2 version of the script? Ive been trying to find a party xp script like this for NWN2 but have been unable to. Are there any currently out right now?

NPCs do not track XP like PCs do. However, using variables (to store XP) and the henchmen levelup scripts you could apply XP to NPCs same as PCs. It would prolly take a decent amount of work.

I think this is a much better system and way more fair. I do have a question though... Do you know of any exp systems that level up npcs for killing each other and characters on a PW?
