This special "Healer's Kit" script is meant to be an alternative/replacement for the standard Bioware Healer's Kits.
-Healing is capped at 75% of the Target's MAX HP.
-HP Restoration = (Heal Skill) + d2(Kit Level)
-Instead of outright Curing Poisons and Diseases, kits will apply Fortitude Save Bonuses vs. Disease/Poison (Amount Depends on Kit Level). The saves are for resisting and shaking off the disease/poison.
-Kit Effectiveness decreases in Combat and when the target's health is very low. It is best to use a kit on the target before their health drops below 25% and while out of combat.
Installation: 1. Copy the script and add it to your module. Recommended to name the script "it_healkit".
2. Create Items with the Cast Spell: Activate Item(Target) - Single Use property.
3. Make sure these tags match your script name "it_healkit".
4. Name it anything you want, but be sure to add the kit level at the end of the name (+#). (Bandages +3, Salve Kit +12, Healer's Kit +6...) This script supports Kit Levels up to +50.
5. Add kits to places where your players can get them.

I used this script in my old module, and will likely use it again (slightly modified) in my next one. The use of TAG based scripting is slightly more complicated than it seems, but once I got it to work, this script worked well. I only want to modify it to use an integer stored on the heal kit rather than its name, and to not destroy the item at the end, so that it can be used as an apothecary satchel with charges.

Rarely has such garbage had the misfortune to be so promising, and yet garbage. Even the scripters in the scripting forum had problems addressing this. I give it a 1.

Very nice script. This is one issue I wholeheartedly agree with you on. I made a version of this for Pirate's Coastal Paradise, but never got around to getting it on the vault (Not trying to be an ass, steal credit, 1 up you, or anything like that). Your version is much better than mine though as it was modeled around Everquest's Bandages. Very good work
I'm glad to see at least 2 other people don't like the way NWN's kits are like a poor fighter's free cleric. I developed the Simple Healer's Kit found elsewhere on the Vault through ideas I saw by another person named Drakken. This uses a different take on how the kit works, I like it and may roll some of your effects into my kits.
I created this script from scratch in notepad, then finished it in the script editor... so it should be completely original... unless someone came up with the exact same idea as me without us knowing ^.^
To set this up:
1. Copy the shown code.
2. Open the module you wish to edit with the Aurora Toolset.
3. Create a New script.
4. Erase all the stuff in the new script, then Paste the code from here.
5. Save the script. Recommended name is : "it_healkit"
6. Create a new item with the same TAG as the script. (it_healkit)
7. Name the new item anything, but add +number at the end. (Example: "Bandages +6")
8. Add the property Cast Spell: Activate Item (Touch) - Single Use.

Good script, but it confused me a little. I don't really know where to put that script. Please tell me and I will be able to vote for you. BTW: I think this script was already made. I forget easily.
