Neverwinter Nights In Game Text Editor (IGTE)
=============================================

The NWN In Game Text Editor is dialog-based somewhat simple and hopefully easy to use text editor with the following features:

- move cursor (left, right, top, bottom)
- delete character left/right from cursor (delete, backspace)
- mark text
- delete marked text, copy marked text to clipboard, insert text from clipboard
- insert new line
- insert color tags
- insert new text (select chat line, type text, press return and select 'Insert')
- load/save text

There is already at least a single line(?) editor (it gets used when you craft things in the OC/MotB). Perhaps there's also a multi line for larger text.

rawn_phoenix: Well, it's an editor, it could be used for editing text ;).

It could be used for changing names or modifying descriptions. Load the old name/description into the editor and use the output as new name/description. Lets take the HotU weapon smith for example. Using an ordinary longsword he can make a really powerful weapon but it's still named 'longsword' and has just the default longsword description.

Or think about some sort of message board or just messages in a multiplayer game or on a PW. Using the editor you can write a text, it gets stored as description on a piece of paper item for example and you can give it to other players, put it into a chest so other players can find it later.

I think there are many possibilities.

Of course it's far away from being a 'professional text editor' and it's just a work-around for editing text but it does its job (more or less at least, there are still a few problems when used in multiplayer).

NEAT! I wonder is this can be done in NWN2.

This would go well with ingame messaging systems. Perhaps it could be used by DMs to edit/create dialog in game for NPCs. It's a basic system that someone is bound to build on.
