This combat system override is intended to replace the traditional NWN combat for D20 modern. It's designed only for the D20 Modern Hakpaks.

You must have the following hakpaks in order to use this combat override:

mdrn20_combat
mdrn20_cloth
mdrn20_creature
mdrn20_head
mdrn20_item
mdrn20_load
mdrn20_placeable
mdrn20_portrait
mdrn20_tile


Installation instructions are included in the package.

This system supports the following features:

- Five weapon classes: Handgun, Magnum, Rifle, SMG, and Shotgun
- Distance affects damage and accuracy
- Support for multiple ammo types
- Support for various firing modes: Single shot, 3-round burst, etc
- Instant combat attacks: No 6 second wait between attacks
- Backwards compatibility with NWN combat
- Easily extendable code


You are free to modify and redistribute this package as you see fit. I encourage modifications and can't wait to see what turns up! :)

If you have questions please post below. I'll try to answer them as soon as I can!

UPDATE 8/30/2011:

- Fixed an issue with one of the include files. If you had trouble compiling the demo module before, try this new copy.


KNOWN ISSUES:

- Reload Feat isn't being given correctly. To get the feat do the following: Create a character, log out of the server, then log back in on the same character. The feat will then be given to you.

I've sent a message to the staff here to see if they can help me out.

For the time being if you go into the script named "gun_include" and comment out the last line: void main(){} and change it to the following: // void main(){}

then save the file and exit the script editor. From there, go to Build -> Build Module and build the scripts you should be able to compile everything.

Sorry again for these issues and hopefully I'll have a working copy posted sometime this weekend.

That's too bad about the class hak (alot of neat stuff) it adds reload feat too with nifty icon =)

However your system is still awesome, and the ammo thing was just a poke at your brain to see if you had it in mind...certain I could figure something out =)

Yeah vault is having some issues :( but look forward to your fixes.

I don't actually use the class hak so I probably won't spend the time to implement it.

It's also not too difficult to add new ammo types but considering my time is pretty limited I probably won't be able to get around to it - at least for now. The great thing about it is if you know a little NWScript you should be able to expand the system a lot.


I'm having trouble uploading the file to the vault so I'll have to contact the admin here to see what's going on. It might be a little longer before the fixes are uploaded so hang tight! :)

Awesome! I'm not sure if it does or not, but I couldn't get it to work with Class Hak.

Have you thought about an Energy Weapon Class or at least perhaps ammo type.

Whoops, another fail on my part. I use a different compiler which ignores the void main in the include scripts. I'll get a fix made and post it up later today.

There's an issue with the reload feat not being given to your character on creation. A workaround to this is to create the character, log out of the server, then log back in on the same character.

You should then have the reload feat.

I'm working on a fix but for the time being follow the steps I've described to get the system working.

Actually, the feat should be added to the item on entry automatically. If not then that's something I need to fix.

Great job Zunath! Very polished and easy to use.

I really like the way you did the ammo readout in the weapon names. It's so easy to see from the quickbar.

The only suggestion I could make is to add the Reload feat to the Modern PC Skin item so that you can just create a new character and lock'n'load in the demo module.

Haha thanks Jez! The shotgun cone is not perfect but it's the best I could do given NWN's limitations.
