Weary travelers and adventurers come to rest their feet at the Dancing Goat Inn with some foamy ale or sweet wine, its all there. A usual sight in the city of Silverymoon, a group of bards play their drums and pipes in the corner for all to hear.

I would like to clarify that I actually was trying to go for that eastern feel. _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Neverending Nights - A NWN Machinima

Hmm, im no composer, but i agree that it sounds eastern, i like the varity to tavern music it adds, its not my favorite piece of yours, but its not bad _________________________ Her strong enchantments failing,
Her towers of fear in wreck,
Her limbecks dried of poisons
And the knife at her neck,
The Queen of air and darkness
Begins to shrill and cry,
O young man, O my slayer,
To-morrow you shall die.
O Queen of air and darkness,
I think tis truth you say,
And I shall die to-morrow;
But you will die to-day.

Trying to get back to my usual music reviews (just been a little swamped lately!).
Here goes!...
I like the tune, and the arrangement is fine. Its a strange one this (and I mean that in a positive way). It deviates from the usual "Hobbiton" inspired tavern music, and for the most part sounds a little Eastern. Thats nice though, because it helps it fit into a wider variety of taverns and also adds something different to the selection already on the vault.
As usual the sounds let it down, but i'm not going to go into that. Buying software / hardware for composing with can be expensive. However, I thought I should bring it up just a tad, as its noticeable to the listener, especially if you were to use it in a module next to the Bioware music.
But enough of the doom and gloom. What changes could be made to improve the track without spending all your paycheck?
Well, some reverb on the main instruments. That is, what is either an oboe (or is it an oboe / sax combo?) along with what are probably flutes could really do with some reverb on them. The amount really depends what you feel works.
The dynamics sound fine for the most part. A little high in some places, such as when the bass drum is banging. Or maybe, as I think the case may be, the jump in velocity is putting me off? Seems that with the 4 hits of the bass drum, it jumps quite a bit up from the last 2 hits (in fact, hits 1 and 2 have the same velocity, as do hits 3 and 4, with the exception of a rather large jump!).
Making the dynamics on the drum build more gradually would do some real good for the track though. :)
Finally, i'd like to ask if you mind me doing a slight rework / cover to this track (see, I like it! :D). My intention is to do up the sounds and maybe add some little touches to it. I'm thinking that perhaps making it sound more Eastern would work (Desert Taverna here we come?). I'd also like to add a proper bongo line to go with the track.
Of course, thats all down to you. If you're fine with me doing that just drop us an email or something. Or of course, if you don't want someone tinkering with your composition, thats fine (and I understand!) - and again, I suppose email me again. I won't budge until I hear from you! ;)
Thanks for the music! :)
