Beautifully haunting melody, reminiscent of Lord of the Rings. I wished it were longer, but I love it anyway. _________________________ Yay, I have a blog. Faithless: The Making of an NWN2 Module

Absolutely beautiful! _________________________ `My doctor says that I have a malformed public-duty gland and a natural deficiency in moral fibre, and that I am therefore excused from saving Universes.'

We are very happy with the way that third phrase came together. We tried to err on the side of transparency for this track, unlike all our other densely polyphonic efforts ;).

Hope you've had a great weekend.

finally got a chance to listen today :).
omg i love it. the balance between light/dark,tension/release = perfect and the harmonic shifts are so beautiful, especially for the 3rd melodic gesture.
good job, cant wait to hear more

Thanks for listening and for your feedback; sorry that it's not quite what you're after.
That was a level that worked fine for me ingame, and it's supposed to semi-merge with the background effects, but I can definitely see where you're coming from, and was in fact wondering what other users would think.
In other news, our original recording was 6dB louder than that, but I had trouble with the looping at that volume (thinking of switching to a silent start, after all that tinkering :p, as NWN doesn't have the cleanest audio engine :s), and there was a strange bmu variable bitrate error that was only resolved by taking a drop. Oh yeah, and this is unmastered too, so it's really only a taste of the final 'polished' version. Just so you know ;).
But never fear, I'll be doing some parallel compression on it to boost the overall RMS or oomph and try to get a commensurately 'louder' one working with the bmu format: the clean ends may help too...
Thanks again, and I'll let you know when it's up. As for echoes of war, give it about a week. Other tracks are on the way too.

very melodic but a little to low toned. could easily be drowned out by even the sound of the wind. if the volume were boosted in this track it might be more useful in areas i could see it being used within but as is it is too low to become useful for me. i still want to hear your echoes of war. if it is one of those heart pounding tracks.
