In contrast to most pieces of music made for "True Colors Of A Hero", this is rather less thematic. I wanted something a little more generic that people could use easily outside my own module.
This is the battle music for the Kutjara, who are giant, primative, reptilian creatures that inhabit the slopes of the Leoi Sierra. They live in large and usually nomadic warbands and fight tactically, with each individual adopting a given role in combat.
Anyway, hope you enjoy, and as always check the progress of the mod here -

Good battle music, perfect for going up against savages. Here's the 10th vote for listing your composition in the Top Rated list. :) _________________________ Yay, I have a blog. Faithless: The Making of an NWN2 Module

Variations are crucial for short songs or you are *done*.
It`s good backgroundmusic.

I'm afraid that's due to the missing "stinger" - basically, a short sound that plays to end the loop. I made one, and I have it on my machine - I just forgot to upload it.
I'll try and update this on the weekend, as I should have time then.
Thanks for the vote! :)

Aside from the abrupt ending once again, I liked it. If I hadn't known it was from True Colors of a Hero, I would have confused it for an unused track from Jade Empire, really. _________________________ No, I am NOT a Lotus Assassin! Very nice... I would've preferred it were the strings emphasized a bit more, particularly during the build up to the staccato bits... But still one of the best pieces of custom music I've heard.
In answer to your question - I use Cubase SX (i'm really from a techy side of things, not much of a "composer" (my sightreading is pretty awful!)).
The strings are from East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Silver (I now have XP, but no XP sounds were used in that track).
The drums though are special - they're from an oriental VSTi package called ChineeKong. I strongly recommend buying their instruments. They are very very high quality and are pretty cheap for what you get. I own most of their plugins (you'll notice that in my future tracks you'll find Dizi and Pipa featuring quite a bit :) ).

wow...so i turned on the nwvault mix just a few moments ago and was listening thru it and then I heard this...
I won't lie, you caught me off guard with that leg to pizz transition on the strings at one part. I expected straight drums but man wow, that had a really nice, unexpected effect.
curious...what do you use when composing? I've been looking out there, but the best ive seen is sibelius...
I wish I was a derivative so I could lay tangent to your curves. <~ from "nerdy pick-up lines" :] hahaha

I like it a lot. It sounds really nice.
The only thing I see wrong with it is the drum line... It seemed to overpower on my sound system, so I tried turning down my sub woofer, but it still over-powered it. I really like the rest of it though, (especially the low brass parts).

Hmm now this is good. I could see alot of uses for this one, its also not annoyingly to repedative which some battle songs can be. Definate keeper.

Nice, new music. And promises of even more.
I think this track works very well as more generic battle music. Don't really know why, but it does feel very appropriate for giants. Probably the slowish heavy percussion stuff in the background. (my technical knowledge of music: nada.)
Uh, anyway. I like this one a lot, one of your better pieces in my not-so-educated opinion.
