Yeah, I guess for TCOAH I was going for a heavily orchestrated "Japanese RPG" feel, which inevitably is going to try and sound like FF (overall I was aiming for Baldurs Gate meets FF / Zelda).

An interesting piece, and fits well for rural or settlement areas. Somewhat haunting, which makes it perhaps too powerful for run-of-the-mill ambient music, rather something more specific.

I like it!

The melody line sounds interesting. The grace-notes could have been brought out a little more. The melody sounds so dead on the beat that it almost gives it a rushing feel. I know its hard to do on a computer, but that melody seems like it needs to be laid back a bit, almost placed a little behind the beat at times to produce more of an evocative feel and would give it more of a realistic quality.

I guess this is just an opinion, and I say this about most music I hear posted here. I think it needs more dynamic contrast. Also along the lines of dynamics, the background seems to be a little loud and it seems to draw the attention away from the melody.

Other than those, its a great piece! some strange harmonics, but it sounds good.
