I admit, the piece is a little stale and could probably be re-recorded. The staggering notes are supposed to somewhat emulate an old music box, but nobody would really understand that unless I wrote it out.
I also agree with the fact that it sounds a little modern in parts - when I initially wrote it, a medieval setting was not in mind ;)
Anyways - thank you both Very much for your thoughts and kind words.
Happy gaming!

JClef - Very nice piece. I want to emphasise that the following comments are minor - overall a very well done and beautiful composition. The piano patch sounds a little thin to me but the other sounds are very good. The section a little past the middle of the song sounds too modern, harmonically, to me (by that I mean like pop/rock) to fit with a lot of traditional NWN settings - I think most players accept modern harmonies and instrumentation if they are "classical" (such as the dissonance in the NWN2 MOTB theme) more than they do pop/rock sounds but that is just my opinion.
Also, I think there are places where you could tighten up the rhythm, especially in the introduction. I think at times the piano feels like it is lagging, maybe due to playing a little behind the beat instead of right on or slightly ahead.
Anyway, thanks for your contribution - keep up the good work. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Missing Persons -- a short single-player NWN adventure for levels 4-5. My music submissions
The beginning and ending were beautiful, but the middle part was out of place, IMO. That's really too bad because it has the potential to be a very nice mood piece. Anyhow, thanks for lending your talent to the community. _________________________ Yay, I have a blog. Faithless: The Making of an NWN2 Module
