Prelude in C Minor by Frederick Chopin (Op. 28 No. 20.) A slow somber piece for a dramatic moment. Originally for piano, I arranged and recorded it for strings and winds.

I like this arrangement. I'm a fan of arrangements (The composers' name for a cover...tee hee.) You said you use Finale and GPO? What's that? I don't really have any good sounds other than what I can get out of Garageband. _________________________ -Christopher Escalante
Snafe - No I have not posted anything lately but I just saw that you did so I voted on it and encourage others to do so. I am working on some short musical scene changes, etc., for a local children's theater production - maybe some of those will be suitable for posting because the play is based on a Grimm's fairy tale. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Haha, that title you had previously is what caught my attention. But that is probably because I study music and have delved deep enough into music history to acknowledge something like that.
Any recent compositions for the vault? _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Neverending Nights - A NWN Machinima
OK, the piece was not really updated 12/10/08. I changed the title because I was wondering why the download count and votes for this piece were lower than my others, despite the fact that Darkload Snafe gave me such positive comments and vote. I thought maybe people didn't like the longer complicated classical name so I changed it to just Prelude - the information on the original prelude is still in the Description. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. the dynamics and tempo changes were perfect in this piece, those two things are what puts a composition over the top and signifies musicality. Finale is an awesome program, and I have grown to love it and use it all the time. And for the reverb, it fit perfectly for this piece.
I look forward to hearing more. In my opinion, the NWVault lacks in the area of music, but hopefully as we compose and add more music, it will liven it up. Don't stop composing! :D _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Neverending Nights - A NWN Machinima
Thanks Snafe. Actually I used Finale again, with the GPO for the sounds. I added more dynamics and tempo changes, as well as some breath marks, etc., to get slight pauses between the phrases. So I would say it plays back more musically than my others. Based on your suggestions about reverb, I costumized the reverb a little - although I still did it using Finale - I started with the "cathedral" preset and cut it back a little from there. Also, I started with a piece by a famous composer, so maybe these are some of the reasons it sounded more professional to you. Or the simple answer (I hope) is that I am getting better at it as I go along. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Congrats on a beautiful arrangement. This is the type of music that is worth listening to.
What software are you using? it sounds more professional than your previous stuff... _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Neverending Nights - A NWN Machinima
