A celestial host has assembled for glorious battle to cleanse the world of its sins. Hovering over the Earth, the angels sweetly sing while twirling their +20 Holy Avengers. This music is a good choice for preparing them (and your NWN2 players) for righteous fighting.
"Peccata mundi" is Latin for "sins of the world," which never cease to flow from the hearts of men. This song reflects the serene enthusiasm with which a celestial host would face its endless battle.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm reading up on music theory so I can structure my compositions better. If I am to break any rules, it's a good idea to do so on purpose and with full knowledge of why I'm doing it. As of now, all my rule breakages are accidental. _________________________ Yay, I have a blog. Faithless: The Making of an NWN2 Module

As peej said with the ending chord, it may sound odd... but at the same time, the rules of music theory are there but do not always have to be followed. Break the rules whenever you want to and write whatever you think sounds good... It was a major chord, so it was all good, haha... _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Neverending Nights - A NWN Machinima

Very enjoyable piece! I think the piece succeeds in invoking the images you described. I think you could go for more dynamics and a little bit fuller sound at times, possibly by getting some different sounds to work with, or as Snafe suggested, adding some more reverb, since I think the scene you described should have a "big" sound. About two-thirds of the way through where the piece shifts into a predominantly minor key and starts to sound like maybe the battle is close to starting, I think it could be even bigger there (e.g. maybe some low brass) and them maybe calm down again for the ending. At first I could not figure out why it sounds a little unfinished to me at the end - I think it is because you started the piece in C major but end on an F chord - nothing wrong with that and I don't think it is that unusual in pop music (e.g. Neil Young ends on a IV chord in "After the Goldrush") but it was a suprise to me in this sacred-style music.
Keep up the good work! _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Missing Persons -- a short single-player NWN adventure for levels 4-5. My music submissions
Thanks for the tip, Snafe. I found SynthFont by googling it. This ought to keep me busy for some time. :) _________________________ Yay, I have a blog. Faithless: The Making of an NWN2 Module

There is some really good free software out there that I used to use... it uses soundfonts, but it doesn't go to the limit to where you need an expensive soundcard like most. If you ever get the time, look up SynthFont. you can find it on freewarefiles.com I think... _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Hi, Snafe. I'm a big fan of your work. :) I'm really a complete noob at composing, but now that I've tried my hand at it, I find it a lot of fun. Thanks for your advice. I'll see if I can improve the composition without breaking anything. LOL _________________________ Yay, I have a blog. Faithless: The Making of an NWN2 Module

Overall, I really like the piece. You have taken an idea and taken it somewhere. The first thing I noticed after listening to the entire piece is that it seemed to keep the same basic chord structure and key signature throughout the piece which makes it seem rather repetitive.
When it comes down to personal preference, I think it needs some brass to strengthen the mood near the end of the piece. But that is merely a suggestion and it is not at all affecting my rating of this piece.
There is one thing I tell most people who post songs on the vault... and that is: the piece needs some reverb. It sounds rather dry right now without it.
Keep composing! It is always great to see new compositions on the Vault! _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Neverending Nights - A NWN Machinima
