Fun! Starts with a bit of a Danny Elfman thing.. the some great dischords.. all with the spiders in there.. then some music for the heroes to be heroic.. and still the ever-present Spiders!... nice. _________________________ Enjoy!

Something quite different. It invokes well the spider ambush you're aiming for, and I like the hints of melody in there, alongside the discordance. What doesn't work for me so well is the synth at 12 and 37 seconds - a bit thin/isolated, but the opening is great, and once you get into the body, it has a great feel to it. _________________________ Works of B G P Hughes: Link

This is my favorite music you have posted!
I agree with Snafe about how cool it would be to have a structure of composers would be here on the NWVault.

I use plugins from N-Track studio (bought onling) with my WaveStudio (came with my sound card)... though that is a very expensive combination.
I bet you could get N-Track studio's plugins to work with Audacity which is an open source wave editor you can find most places. Take a look around (try freewarefiles.com) and you should be able to find some decent freeware online.
Feel free to email me at any time if you have any questions! We, as composers, need to build a support structure and help one another out whenever possible. It would be awesome to have a NWVault structure of composers... _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Neverending Nights - A NWN Machinima
Thanks for the comments. I probably don't do a revision but I can definetly use these helpful comments when creating my next musical piece.
peej0000: The pizzicato part at the end is little off tempo because I just let my fingers dance freely on the electric piano this was recorded. In the final third all the voices I used (tremolo strings, pizzicato, orchestra strings and allegro strings) are meant to play simultaneously but perhaps I should use less pizzicato and save it to the final climax.
Darklord Snafe: All of the voices were recorded at the same volume but the low strings wasn't meant to be overpowering. In my next music piece the different voice will be recorded at different volumes. But I'm not sure how I could add some reverb. What would you do in order to remove this "dryness"?
And don't worry, I won't stop composing. ;) _________________________ A good module author is PAG: Patient, Ambitious and Gutsy.

It sounds rather dry... It needs some reverb.
It seems like the low strings overpower everything else, maybe turn them down a little. My sub woofer was going crazy, haha.
It almost seems like it needs a little bit of clarity between each part, but that could also just be the bass overpowering that I am hearing.
Overall, I thought it was a great piece and a very good addition to the vault. Please post more and don't stop composing! _________________________ Snafe Composed: What is a game without music? Neverending Nights - A NWN Machinima

Thanks for your contribution, ActorOfVeil. I like it! It sounds just like the title suggests it should. I think there is a good balance between repetition to give it a kind of urgency and enough melodic/harmonic varation to keep it interesting. There are times near the end (maybe the last third or so) when the timing seems a little off to me - I realize there are certain parts that are not intended to be in tempo at all and contrast with the driving bass, such as the pizzicato strings near the beginning, but near the end it seems to me that there is a part that is neither exactly on the beat or off the beat and sounds to me like it should be - maybe consider quantizing or replaying that part if you ever do a revision. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players.
