This contains the dialog.tlk and soundset.2da for the soundset collection. Unzip dialog.tlk to your base Neverwinter Nights directory(usually c:\neverwinternights\nwn\) and the soundset.2da to your override directory(usually c:\neverwinternights\nwn\override\). Please keep a back-up of all files your overwriting, so you can revert to those if you need to patch your NWN.

you should have backed up the files before you copied them.

Just thought Id add this to the top of the list. Replacing the .tlk files will make you have to reinstall. Be careful of this step if, like me, you don't know what you are doing. LoL

What I meant was the actual wav. files.
Since this is all pre HoTU, I've been playing around with it more. None of these had text dialogue assigned to them in the ssf. And some of the volumes were kindof off.
What I've done so far is re adjust the volumes on those that needed it.Assign the text dialogue to all voice commands WITHOUT using a custom tlk. Not everything is exactly as said but most are very close, or close in meaning. If I couldn't find anything at all, I left it blank.
Filled in alot of empty voices by inserting similar voices (editied pitch and treble and base) to make sound alike. If I couldnt find a similar voice, I still added the text dialogue. I'm only working on the ones that have the most wav's(at least 40/set). I hate incomplete soundsets.
I have 9 done at the moment.
So basically its just the wav. files themselves, ssf. file, and a soundset 2da file. Thats it.

hmm...
I actually got it to work without putting the extracted soundsets in the override. I only put the soundset.2da in the override, and the dialog.tlk in the tlk folder...
It's working properly, with people able to listen to me in the game, but something still bugs me...
what do you mean by the "actual soundsets"? You mean all the .wav files should be extracted from the .2da and placed into the override folder, or just the soundset.2da alone should do it?
I'm about to try some changes into both dialog and soundset files (not the source ones, but in tlk and override folders) to see if I can get the voices of HotU NPCs to work too... Wish me luck!

ok, got his working just perfect in HoTU.
Pretty much did what catofnine did.
1.Put all the files from the actual soundset in the override (they are elsewhere on the vault)
2. Had to make a few changes to the 2da so it can reference the custom tlk, then that goes into the override also
3.create a new tlk and put that into the tlk folder
You get 13 new voicesets to choose from. 11 male and 2 females
Sander---if your still around and want to update this I can send you my stuff...

hehe Tried this and its pretty good. Still needs to be HoTU updated tho but even in this condition I was able to choose some on charcter creation. They show up as blanks but you can still hear some of them.

Hey uh... Before I go jumping with happiness for finally finding soundsets that everyone can hear...
Is this dialog.tlk file appropriate for HotU? Or it is not supposed to make any difference on whether you have the expansions or not?

What are those dialog.tlk and soundset.2da exactly used for... I mod bg2 and know that overwriting dialog.tlk is BAD.

In case you didn't know yet, the voices themselves are contained in the original sounds entry on NWvault, these are only the soundset.2da and dialog.tlk file, to hear the sounds, you'll still need that one...

Does this one contain the Torment voices as well?

Ah, sorry. Posted that to the wrong comment page. Don't I feel sheepish. Thankfully I caught it before I misposted both places.
I WAS going to say that this looks very useful. ;)

Nice script. Easy for the builder and the player. Will there be future versions, hopefully with depositing items or maybe specifying an amount verbally?
